"Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world." When there isn't much to interest you, traveling can be like taking a step back and making sure a picture is straight. The opportunity to clear your mind and make sure you have your life headed where you want it.
I let my thoughts drift around travel; thinking of how a trip could help. I could think about where I'm going and clear my mind of the recent events. I could start to let go of what happened. Grief is one thing that we can't help but roll over and over.
This little room full of books and old chairs is like a stranger now. In this room, I listened to her make her choice. Mom chose to no longer breathe, she just sold her life. I suck in and turn back to my book, Moby Dick. I notice that line again, "I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world." That was only the beginning of his journey.
