"Ringgggg." Haneul fluttered her eyes open, waking up from her nap at the sound of her alarm before groaning at the thought of her date today. Her friend had arranged a blind date for her for god-knows-what reason and she was so not looking forward to it.
She laid on her bed, staring at the plain, white ceiling before she glanced at her bedside clock and decided that she needed to get ready even though she wasn't really excited about the date. 3 pm. She sighed and very reluctantly, she dragged herself out of her warm, cozy bed and head to her bathroom. There, she did her daily mourning routine.
After she was done washing up and brushing teeth and all that, she wrapped a towel around her body before walking to her closet and opened the doors of it. With both her arms crossed over her chest, she thought about what to wear before shrugging and simply picked a black tank top, white shorts and a blue denim jacket to wear over it along with a white converse shoes. She smiled at her own reflection in the mirror, satisfied with her simple outfit. she glanced at the clock. 4.30 pm.
The girl grabbed her purse, phones and keys and slipped on the converse before she stepped out and closed the door behind her, locking it. She looked at the beautiful blue sky with a small smile, "I hope this date wouldn't be so bad." she said and started to walk towards the cafe.
After about 10 minutes of walking, she was finally there. The bells jingling as she pushed the door to the cafe open, her eyes darting around to look for her date, her mind comparing almost every guy in the place with the picture her friend showed her before she locked eyes with a handsome young man who was sitting by the window and she immediately knew it was him when he sent her a smile. Quickly, she walked over to him, "Are you Jeon Jungkook?"
The male nodded, smile widening. "And you must be Haneul." She nodded her head softly and sat down, quietly taking in his appearance. He too, looked like he didn't thought much about the outfit as he wore a black t-shirt with some slight ripped jeans along with a black beanie but she liked the simplicity of it.
"Sorry, I'm late. Have you waited long?"
"Oh no, you aren't late, you're just in time. It was me who came earlier and no just a few minutes before you arrived." he grinned softly, his bunny teeth showing ans she found it cute. "And you're really pretty, I mean that."
Haneul could felt the blood rush to her face and she looked down, trying to hide her blushing face. She could hear Jungkook chuckling softly before he reached his hand out to lightly ruffle her hair, "You don't have to get shy, I was just stating the truth. Plus, I'm sure everyone tells you that, right?" The girl shook her head and slowly looked up, face still a slight shade of pink. "N-not everyone." He was going to say something before a waiter came and asked for their orders.
"Caramel Macchiato."
"Caramel Macchiato."
The girl looked at her date with slightly widened eyes, they both ordered the same drink at the exact same time. The waiter just wrote down their orders and walked away. Then, she broke into a wide grin, "You like caramel macchiato too?" and the boy had the same grin on his face when he replied, "Like it? I love it. It's my absolute favorite." Haneul's grin widened even more, "Me too. I guess we have something in common now."
"What else do you like?" Jungkook asked.
Haneul thought for a moment as there was a lot. "Well, I like a lot of things like puppies and food and dancing-" His eyes widened, "You like dancing? Oh wow, me too. I'm a part-time dance teacher at xxx dance school actually." He smiled and she gasped, "Really? I have a friend teaching there too. His name is Hoseok, do you know him?" Jungkook laughed softly at her question. "Everyone knows Hoseok hyung, he is like the best dancer ever." he said, emphasizing on the word 'everyone'. Now, it was her turn to laugh, "True that but I've got a feeling that you're a pretty good dancer too."
He rubbed the back of his nape shyly and just as he was about to deny, the drinks came and Haneul flashed a smile at the waiter. "Damn, she is so kind and her smile is making me go crazy inside. Is this what they call love at first sight?" he shook his head at the thoughts and took a sip of his drink, humming at the bitter sweet taste before he glanced up and found her sipping on her drink, face clearly showing that she was enjoying it too. "You really love this drink, huh?" The girl nodded and he chuckled softly.
They talked and talked for 3 whole hours in the cafe, the thought of leaving to walk around never coming to their minds as they were both comfortable with the constant chatting. They talked just about anything. From their favorite colors to food and from food to some other things.
Glancing at her wristwatch, she gasped softly at the time, "It's been 3 hours but it feels like 10 minutes." The male chuckled and nod, agreeing with the statement. "Well, what do you say if I sent you home?" Her eyes turned to face Jungkook, blinking a few times before she nodded. "I don't mind." They both stood up and Jungkook head to the cashier and paid for their drinks, causing her to giggle softly. "Such a gentleman."
When he was done, he turned around and smiled at the girl. "Let's go." He pushed open the door, gesturing for her to go out first and she did before he followed after her. The first thing she did as she stepped out was to look at the sky, realizing that it was already a color of pinkish-orange. Turning towards the directions of her house, she started walking, Jungkook beside her.
There was silence between them, it wasn't awkward. It was a comfortable silence between the two. Suddenly, Jungkook spoke out of the blue. "You know, one day, I'd like to watch you dance." Her head swung towards him, eyes wide as if he said something really weird but he was just looking in front. She nibbled on her bottom lip and she played with her fingers, "I'm not so sure about that. I mean, I don't dance really well." Now it was his turn to looked as if she had two heads before he broke into a cheeky grin,
"I've got a feeling that you're a pretty good dancer." he said the exact same words she said, causing her to let out a small whine as she lightly hit his arm.
"Yah, who said you could use my words, you copycat." Jungkook rubbed the spot she hit as he laughed,
"Well, you didn't say I couldn't use them." He plastered another cheeky grin on his face and she whined. "Cute." he smiled and ruffled her hair for the second time of the day, which of course caused Haneul face to turn into a tomato.
Soon, they reached the front of her house and both internally groaned as the date was going to come to an end soon. Standing in front of the gate, they faced each other. Jungkook rubbing the back of his nape shyly and Haneul looking down, playing with her fingers with the exact shyness before she decided to break the silence,
"So, here we are."
"Mhmm."
"I had fun today."
"Me too, Haneul-ah. I'll be going back now then. Have a good night and sweet dreams."
"You too, oppa."
Jungkook flashed a dashing smile and gave one last nod before he turned back and started walking back to his own house. Haneul, who was fidgeting on the ground was having a mental battle. Her mental battle was whether she should give the male a goodnight peck on the cheek and she did just that.
She called out to him, failing to not stutter due to the nervousness, "o-oppa." Hearing her call him, the male turned around with a questioning expression just in time to feel something soft on his cheek - her lips. But it left his cheek as quick as it landed there. "Goodnight, oppa." The girl was blushing uncontrollably before she darted into her house.
Jungkook stood there, still unable to react but when he snapped back to reality, she was already in her house. He chuckled, face a light shade of pink and muttered, "cute." before he once again walked towards the direction of his own house. Once he reached, he plopped down on the sofa, fished his phone from his pocket and sent a text to the girl.
To : Haneul
I've just reached home and I just wanted to tell you that I really had fun today, Haneul-ah. Good night and I hope I appear in your dreams < 3 haha- jk. Let's have another date next time, okay? : ) -Jungkook
A 'ping' sound notified Haneul that she received a text from an unknown number. Opening it, she smiled when she realized it was Jungkook but she was puzzled as to how he got her number before she remembered that her friend had gave her number to him and his number to her, only she did not save it. A blush spread across her face when she remembered the events from earlier and unconsciously, she touched her lips before she quickly snapped out of it and typed a reply.
To : Jungkook oppa
I hope I appear in your dreams too, then. Heh- and yeah, sure. Maybe we can go somewhere else next time. -Haneul
She pressed the 'send' button before laying down on her bed, hugging her phone to her chest as she waited for his reply with heavy eyelids. "The blind date wasn't that bad at all." she thought to herself before dozing off.
