Chapter 7- A Nerd and Social Events

Start from the beginning

“Get out,” I say through clenched teeth, motioning for Evan to leave.

“You need to calm down,” Evan states. His stupid voice resonating in my ears is what makes me make my next move which is to punch him in the face.

“Flynn, what the…” she doesn’t even finish her sentence as she looks down at what she’s wearing. Nothing, but Evan’s shirt that’s big enough to cover the important parts of her petite body, that’s if he didn’t already tainted her.

“Get out,” she tells me while she hugs her arms around her body.

                “Brook-,”

“Out,” she moves to push me out of the room ad slams the door in my face. I punch the wall beside me and head downstairs to wait in the living room, as soon as Evan steps through we’ll settle this like men. It takes them a while to come down and when they do their fresh and clean. Their hair darker because it’s wet. I wish I had a shotgun to look more intimidating. They sit on the couch across from me.

“Okay Flynn, Evan explained, nothing happened,” she states cautiously as if she’s talking to an animal. I snort, yeah, I haven’t heard that before.

“Look dude, really nothing happen, she was drunk and I decided to take her upstairs so she wouldn’t do anything she’d regret,” Evan exclaims.

“So you expect me to believe that Bookie Brook got drunk and you took her upstairs and you didn’t take advantage?”

“Yes, I was looking out for her, I was going to leave but in her haze she asked to stay,” he states his case.

“Is this true?” I turn my attention to Brook.

“Ugh, yes, I was drunk out of my ass, I was barely conscious of my actions, besides who are you to try and control me?” okay, that one stung a little.

“Fine, don’t let it happen again,” I warn before getting up and heading up to my room. I need to think about what could have happened if I wasn’t more careful, I need to stop getting drunk and look after Brook.

Brooklyn’s POV:

“Sorry about that,” I turn to Evan who’s looking at me apologetically.

“You don’t have to apologize, Evan, at least he bought it,” I sigh. I don’t even want to think about what would happen if Flynn found about what really happened yesterday, he’d be furious.

“I don’t know why he’s so overprotective of you,” he shakes his head.

“We have a long history,” I shrug. He turns to look at me with a curious look and I lay the whole story out to him, I feel like Evan is very trustworthy. He sits there and listens to my every word.

“I can’t believe he did that,” he states when I’m done.

“Yeah, he did, people can be very deceiving,” I feel a bit of anger every time I recall the way Flynn just discarded our longtime friendship as if it meant nothing to him, what’s even more messed up, sometimes I wish we could rekindle that friendship. We used to think we’d take the world by storm, travel the world and eventually settle down, all those stupid things flew down the drain so carelessly.

“Don’t worry I have your back,” Evan puts a comforting hand on my shoulder as if assuring me, but I can’t really believe his words. Last time I did, I was hurt beyond belief. God, I need some Ben and Jerry’s to soothe my aching heart. Now, I just have to keep Flynn from finding out what happened? Should be easy enough.
