Chapter 1 - Camp Half-Blood

I woke up to a perfect day, well as perfect as it can get with my luck. As usual my day just goes rapidly downhill. I was at school, when my only friend Chuck started going into one of his nerdy fits where he cannot stop talking about the Greek gods. When I finally got him to stop talking, he was trying to drag me down the hall. "What are you doing?" I asked him.

"We need to get out of here!" he exclaimed as he managed to get me out of the school doors.

"Hold up" I said and stopped us both. "What do you mean we need to get out of here? You are going to make me miss lunch!"

"Your life is more important than lunch!" he exclaimed. And with that he picked me up, and threw me over his shoulder.

"Hey!" I said, "Put me down!" I struggled, but he only held on tighter. He kept frantically looking behind him. I looked up and saw our principal running after us. I looked down and saw Chuck take off his shoes.

"Ahhh!" I screamed. "Sorry" he mumbled, "I run faster that way." What I saw was that he had hooves instead of feet.

I struggled and fought, but he only said to me," I am trying to save your life, will you stop!" And with that I went limp. I didn't dare move, because what I saw was the principle turning into a horrifying creature that looked like a man with a bull head and horns.

"What is that thing?" I ask myself as I shiver in fear.

Chuck put me down and pulled out a set of wood pipes. He did a small jig, and the bull headed man turned into a tree.

"There" he said. "That's better." "Come on, we need to get out of here!" he said and grabbed my hand and started to run towards a boat out in the ocean.

I didn't question him, I didn't want to be turned into a tree like the bullheaded man did. So many thoughts were going through my head, why is this happening? Why am I here? Where am I going? But I just kept running.

When we finally reached the ocean, a small rowboat came and met us. An Asian girl with pink mascara on told us to get in the boat.

"Who are you?" I asked. "I'm Drew, hon." she replied.

"Did Piper send you to come and get us?" Chuck asked. "No" the girl said. "Chiron did." "Oh" Chuck replied.

I had no idea who Piper and Chiron were, but I figured I would find out soon enough.
