Opening Scene: lights come on. Liam pushes Casey on the scene. Living Room
Liam: Get in there,you brat. (Pushes Casey to the ground)
Casey:(gets up) how many times do I have to tell you it was an accident
Liam: You're an accident. No wonder your parents gave you up
Casey:(anger growing)Don't you ever talk about my parents.
(Liam slaps her)
Liam:No, don't you ever talk to me like that, do you understand?
(Casey stays quiet)
Liam:(raises his voice) I said, do you understand?!?
Casey:(quietly) Yes
Liam: (enraged) I didn't hear
Casey: (louder) YES!
Liam: Good now make me dinner
(Liam exits stage left)
Casey: My parents will come and he'll be sorry
(Casey exits stage left)(black out)

Scene 2:(Lights up)Casey runs away. bedroom
Casey: Time to get away from this hellhole.
(Casey packs final things and exits stage left)
(Casey enters stage right)
Casey: So long, Liam
(On her way out, Casey trips and knocks over a vase)
Casey: Damn it
(Liam enters stage right,carrying baseball bat)
Liam: What are you doing awake with a bag full of  clothes.
Casey: Nothing
Liam:You're planning on running away, aren't you? (Casey doesn't answer)
Liam:(Shouting) Aren't you?
Casey: (Shouts back) Yes and why wouldn't I? You're a monster!
(Liam hits Casey with a baseball bat and is unconscious)
Liam: that should teach you some respect
(Liam exits stage left) (Black Out)

Scene 3:(lights up) Casey's room.
(Casey reading)
Casey: What did I do to end up with a man like that? I must've screwed up big time in a past life to get this punishment.(goes down her knees) If you're out there God, I'm sorry. Whatever I did to deserve this life, I'm sorry. I ask nothing from you except my real parents to come and rescue me. Please,I know they're out there, somewhere. I need help to  escape, that's all I ask of you. (Gets back up) who am I kidding? I'm stuck in this life and no one can save me. I still have hope that someone, anyone can be my saviour.
(Casey exit stage right)(Black Out)

Scene 4: (Lights up)Casey is downstairs reading. Liam enters stage left
Liam: What do you think you're doing?
Casey:(sarcastically) Reading, duh
(Liam punches her)
Liam: I gathered that but why aren't you making my dinner!
Casey: I'm sorry I lost track of time.
(Liam smacks her)
Liam:(Shouts) well go make me some food,now!
Casey:(mumbles) Alright, moody
(Liam grabs her shirt)
Liam: What did you say?
Casey: nothing
Liam:what I thought.(let's go of her shirt,pushing her to the ground)
(Casey exits stage left)
Liam:One day, that brat will pay for what she did.
(Black out)

Scene 5: Flashback, 7 years. Living room
(Lights up)
Marie:Casey, come down sweetie
Casey:Coming, mummy
Liam: How are my two angels?
Casey:  Good, daddy. Look, my tooth is wobbly
Liam:Soon the tooth fairy will come.
Casey:Mummy can I go play outside?
Marie: Of course, just be careful.
Casey: I will, thank you.
(Casey exits stage right)
Marie: How could someone give up such a sweet girl?
Liam: I guess we'll never know.
Marie: I'm going to go check on her.
Liam:I'm going to go grab something from upstairs then I'll be right down
(Liam exits stage left)
(Marie exits stage right)

Scene 6: Flashback still. Liam and Marie's room
(Liam rummages through a drawer and pulls out a small box)
Liam: Finally. I'm going to do it. It's time to propose.
(Scream from outside)
Liam: What the hell was that?
(Liam runs downstairs and goes outside)
(Struggle with robber and Marie)
(Casey passed out on the floor)
Liam: Let go of her! NOW!
Robber: I don't think so. See, this is my ex and she's going to pay for what she did
Liam: Marie, what's he talking about?
Robber: She left me and had a kid of her own.
Liam: Casey isn't ours. She's adopted. Please, let her go.
Robber: Like I'm going to believe that! Now, to get my revenge...
(Robber pulls out a knife and stabs  Marie)
Liam:Noooooo!
Robber: My job is done.
(Robber exits stage left)
Liam:No, Marie, stay with me please.
Marie: I love you, Liam
Liam: I love you, too
(Marie's eyes close)
Liam: (whispers)No.
(Liam calls 999)
Liam: Please help, my girlfriend's been stabbed. Thank  you, please hurry.
(Casey wakes up)
Casey:Daddy? What happened?
Liam: (Angry) This is your fault! My girlfriend could be dead because of you!
Casey: What!?!?!? No!
(Liam slaps Casey)
Liam: You'll be sorry when I'm through with you
(Ambulance sounds) (Black out)

Scene 7:Present day. Casey's room
(Lights up)
(Casey's at her desk doing homework)
(Liam enters stage right)
Liam: Get here now!
Casey:what?
Liam: You're needed downstairs.
Casey: Fine!(sighs)
(Casey exits stage right)
Liam: Time to put an end to that brat.
(Liam exits stage right)

Scene 8:Living Room.
(Casey enters stage left and sits on the sofa)
Casey:I wonder what that idiot wants. Why do I need to be downstairs? Why couldn't it be in my room?
(Liam enters stage left)
Liam: Hope you haven't been up to anything
Casey:Nope unless sitting and breathing is crime.
Liam: But that's not all you've done.
Casey:What do you mean?
(Liam pulls out a gun)
Casey:woah, what are you doing?
Liam: It's your my girlfriend is gone and do you wanna know what the worst part is?
(Casey shrugs)
Liam:I was planning to propose then that creep came and killed her because of you
Casey: I'm sorry. I don't remember but I'm sorry. Please, Liam lower the gun. I leave you be just don't hurt me.
Liam:No! You took away the most important person in my life so now you must pay the price.
(Liam shoots Casey in the abdomen)
(Casey drops to the floor)
Liam: You've got what you deserved. You're a mistake that no one will ever want. Not your birth parents or any other family. I've just spared another family of having you as a burden.
(Police burst in)
Liam: What do you want?
Sara:You're under arrest for attempted murder.
Liam:She deserved it and I don't regret it!
Sara: Tell it to the judge.
(Sara and Liam exit stage right)
(Sara comes back stage right and goes to Casey)
Sara:Don't worry, sweetie. We'll get you help.
(Sara pulls out her phone)
Sara:Hello, police unit 493. We've got a young girl around the age of 13. She's been shot in the lower abdomen. Please hurry, she losing blood and fast. Thank you.
(Hangs up the phone)
Sara:Honey, help is on the way.
(Ambulance sounds) (Black out)

Scene 9: Hospital room
(Lights up)(Casey wake up, John and Sara are at her bed)
Casey: What happened? (Winces in pain) and why does my stomach hurt like mad?
Sara:Stay lying down. You were shot in the stomach by your foster dad.
Casey: (Worried) Liam?!?! Where is he?
Sara:Don't worry, he's locked up and won't be getting out for a long time.
Casey: OK but one question. Who are you two?
Sara:I'm Sara, the police officer that locked up Liam.
John:I'm John, I'm your social worker. I've found the perfect family for you to go to once you're fully healed. Would you like to meet them?
Casey: Yeah!
John:Awesome, I'll go set up an appointment.
(John exits stage left)
Casey:Thank you Sara, you saved my life.
Sara: The pleasures all mine. I couldn't let such an innocent, young girl die. No one deserves to be with someone like that.
Casey: I guess. Not to be rude but can you leave? Im feeling really tired
Sara:Not a problem, sweetie. I'll go tell the doctor that you've woken up.
(Sara exits stage left)
Casey:I'm finally free. It looks like I've found my saviour.
(Casey falls asleep)(Black out)
