The wedding ceremony itself lasted for only about an hour and after that, we immediately approached Alex's older sister. She looked kind and pretty. Her almond shaped eyes complemented the other features of her face. She has a gentle voice when she speaks and it gives me the feeling that she'll be a great mother someday.
"Noona, this is my girlfriend." Alex told her with much delight and she looked at me with a wide smile. I bow down to her and she did the same for me.
"I'm Park Sophie, nice to meet you." I greet her and she smiles at me, I noticed how her eyes formed a line when she smiles. She's just like Alex.
"I'm Alex's older sister, Kim Eun-Kyung. It's nice to meet you, too." She told me and she shoots a look to Alex, "if my brother is causing you any trouble, just tell me about it and I'll beat him up for you." She jokingly told me and Alex starts to protest.
"Noona—" He gets cut off by Eun-Kyung eonnie before he finishes his sentence.
"You should take care of Sophie. I don't really know how a beautiful girl like Sophie fell in love with you." She teased Alex and for a moment there, he looked like an upset child with his pouty lips. Eun-Kyung eonnie excused herself after a while. And again, Alex and I were left together standing there.
"Why are you pouting?" I ask him and he looks at me with puppy eyes. This guy could surely pass as a man and a child at the same time.
"Why'd you fall in love with me? I just realized you never told me about it." He said in his sulky voice. I almost laugh at his current expression but I try to suppress my laughter by taking a deep breath.
"I love you because I love you. Since you're going to save your stories for later, I'll save my answer for later as well. Is that fair to you?" I ask him and he nods with his lips still pouted, "Now promise me to remove that pout, oppa." I tell him with my pinky finger awaiting his.
"I promise." He answered.
"Cross your heart." I tell him and he makes a cross just above his left chest.
"Now, lock it." I said as I lifted my pinky finger.
"Lock it." He told me, intertwining his pinky finger with mine. He gives me a warm smile before enclosing me in a tight hug, "how could I miss you even if you're standing right before my eyes?" He asks me and I know I felt the same way. There are times when I would look at Alex and feel like I'm yearning for something that is already within my reach. Thoughts and feelings like that scare me sometimes. But more than being scared feeling that way for Alex, I am happy because I get to experience something not everyone else does.
I met Alex's father as well before we went to the reception. He was a jolly and kind man and if I were to be asked, Alex would look just like him when he grows old. The sun was almost completely down when we reached the wedding reception. From a distance it looked like a celebration that sprouted in the middle of an open space. Alex and I were walking towards it with our hands together. I could feel the cold breeze touching my skin and I try my best not to shiver. I know I should've brought my trench coat with me but I didn't want to ruin the dress I'm wearing.
"Are you okay?" He asked as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder while we walk. I nodded as an answer and thought to myself that I just have to get through the cold for today. I just wanted to look "extremely beautiful" for Alex even if it's only for a day. I know, it's crazy to withstand the temperature but I guess those girls who fell in love wanted to look beautiful for their man. I'm no different; I'm still a girl anyway.
