When They First Meet

She walked into her fourth period class, and sat at her table. looking up at the whiteboard she sighed, assignment 5 due today.

'Damn.'

"Yuna~" a group of girls surrounded her, "let us see your homework."

"....I don't have it."

The leader of the group scoffed, "Yuna it's bad to lie~ now let us copy it."

She didn't bother to glare up at the group, instead she went on her phone and started playing her favorite anime RPG.

"Oh, Is she ignoring us?" Andrea grabbed at her phone,

"Andrea, come here please."

"Y-yes Ms. Baker!" Andrea threw Yuna's phone on the ground, before walking to her teacher with a group of girls following behind.

She picked her phone up from the ground and put it away.

"Alright class listen up! Pass in your homework then I'll introduce you to our new student."

'New student?'

'Finally, someone new.'

Murmurs we're heard around the room, she didn't bother to pay any attention. Every new student was a either a hot boy that every girl clung onto or a loose girl that tries to get with every boy in the school.

"Good ahead and introduce yourself."

The boy looked around the room, "My name is Reii and I came from Colorado."

"He looks hot." Said Andrea, "I'm into scene boys." Her and her possy giggled.

"You can sit back there, Yuna raise your hand....Yuna, Yuna are you listening?"

The students laughed, more whispers were heard,

'Good for nothing girl.'

'Gosh, kill yourself already.'

Reii worked his way towards her table and sat down. His binder had band stickers, one of them was the same as Yuna's sticker.

"Hey Reii~ I'm Andrea."

"Hi."

"Yuna, switch spots with me."
She looked up at Andrea and put in her deadpool ear buds.

"Yuna, your being rude~" Andrea threw her binder on the floor, papers flying out everywhere.

"Is everything ok back there?"

"Yes ms. Baker! Yuna just dropped her binder."

She bent down and gathered her papers, "stay down like the dog you are." Andrea's friends giggled.

"Whoops, i ripped a paper."

"Yeah, i ripped a paper too, sorry."

Yuna stood up and grabbed the bathroom pass, walking out of the classroom.

"why are you so mean to her?" Reii grabbed the rest of her stuff and put it inside his backpack. The bell rang a few minutes later.

'I got to find her.' Reii waited outside the nearest girls restroom. Yuna walked out shortly.

"Huh?"

"O-oh, uh I have your binder." Reii took it out and handed it to her.

"Thanks."

"I have C-2 next, can you help me find the class?"

"Sure, it's the same class I'm in."

Both of them walked in silence, making their way to class.
"Oh, it's Yuuuuuna."

"Didn't we tell you not to show up today? Its not like anyone wants you."

Reii sat next her, "don't listen to them."

"Yuna~ I got your phone~"

"Give it back!" She reached for it, a rip was heard from her sleeve and she immediately pulled back.
"Fuck..."

Reii glanced at her sleeve, a crimson color was starting to form.
She lifted up her sleeve, one of her stitches was stuck to her sweater.

"Don't pull on it, it'll make you bleed more, here...." he carefully untangled the stitch from her sweater.

"Thanks, again." She stood up and went to the boy who took her phone, "take it again and I'll cut off your hand."

"Oh so scary Yuna."

"Whatever." She made her way back to her seat.

"Yuna, Want to come over to my house after, we could work on homework." Reii had a slight blush on his face.

"No."

"Uh-...oh ok."

"You can come to mine."

"Really? Thanks!"

"Mhmm." Yuna stood up, "this is my last period."

"What a coincidence, mine too."

"Huh, it looks like we have the same schedule. Well let's get going."

"So you walk home everyday?"

"Yeah, my house is only a few blocks down from school."

"Same, My house is by Kmart."

"Oh, You're only a block away from me."

Reii's hand brushed up against Yuna's, "o-h s-sorry, heh."

"Its ok." Yuna entwined her fingers with his, "I was always fond of holding hands, weird right."

"No. not at all, it feels comforting."

"We're here." Yuna unlocked the door and turned on the lights.

"No one is here?"

"I live alone." Yuna set down her belongings next to her couch.

"Oh."

"My Mother died giving birth to me, After that my father became a drunk so I moved out." Yuna sighed, "you hungry?"

"Something to drink would be nice, thank you."

Yuna went to the kitchen, Reii looked around. No pictures, no decorations, just empty shelves.

"Hope you like apple juice."

"Yeah, my favorite." He took a sip, "aren't you lonely."

"I'm used to it, but my friend Kenny visits me like every other day. His house is behind mine."

"Oh, that's nice of him."

"He's a pain to be honest." Yuna laughed

"Woah..."

"Hmm?"

"Your smile, it's beautiful."

Yuna blushed a little, "I prefer not to..."

They paused in silence briefly

"Man it's getting dark already, Damn you daylight savings."

"You can stay here if you want, it's Friday after all."

"I'd love that."

10:30 pm.

Yuna yawned, "I'm gonna head to bed."

"Same, it's late."

"My bed is a queen sized one, don't get the wrong idea, I just want you to be comfortable."

"Woah! Its huge!"
Yuna hopped in bed, "there's plenty of space."

Reii crawled in next to her, "memory foam feels so gooood~"

"I know right." Yuna yawned again, "good night Reii."

"Good night, Yuna."
