The Forest ~ Autumn Forest

I walk through the forest

in autumn.

The trees are dressed

in leaves of

crimson,

scarlet,

bronze,

gold,

delicately gliding

on their path to their destiny

on the forest floor.

The leaves, now under my feet, crunch as I walk.

There is no silence in the autumn forest.

The deer prances in front of me,

then quickly trots away,

as it locks eyes with me.

I hear rustling in the oak tree,

and notice a squirrel scampering up,

mouth filled with acorns.

There is no silence in the autumn woods.

I walk through the forest in autumn,

knowing that despite the silence,

there is a whole world here,

waiting for me.
