Inquisitor
"You insolent, moronic, idiotic, pea-brained, thoughtless COWARD!" Screamed the Inquisitor. "I am second only to the royal family themselves in influence and second to none is power! Yet you manage to make such a fool out of yourself that people I scared senseless not two days ago at the king's feast are now advocating for my dismissal!"
"I'm sorry brother.. . . . ."
The Inquisitor looked down on his brother the miserable excuse of a mage, the barely adequate politician, and worst barter he had ever seen. The only thing he excelled in would be writing and translating but there is no way in the world that he would allow his brother, the brother of one of the if not the most powerful men in the kingdom to be a common SCRIBE! Still the information he provided as well as the detailed sketches he was able to compile of the group was useful.
With a sigh The Inquisitor looked at his brother, the favorite child of his mother, and decided, yet again, not to kill him.
"You just sat in the woods as these . . . these . . . these . . ."
"Strangers?" the Inquisitor's brother supplied.
"Yes, thank you. As these Strangers attacked and defeated highwaymen that I paid to rob that road. YOU JUST SAT THERE!"
"Yes, brother you always say I'm worthless as a mage so I decided to let one of your 'professionals' handle it."
The Inquisitor raised his hand as though to strike his brother but instead then brought it down across the wall leading to the garden. As his hand swung across interlocking crosses spread across the wall and then exploded outward in a deafening clap, sounding like lightning striking the earth.
"Rise brother with your life. . . . . Again. One of these days I will rip out your entrails for failing me and having our mother's eye won't save you."
"Thank you for your leniency brother, but something you should know. . . . . I had the boy with me."
The Inquisitor just raised an eyebrow and replied "I know. What does that matter to me? I saw the scorch marks which means he is dead and I already have people searching the Hall of Sarthieon waiting for the blades to reappear."
A smile spread across the younger of the brothers lips as he replied,"They will not appear, do to the fact that the boy did not die."
