Aidan Stevenson. Every girl wanted him. Every guy envied him. But he didn't care. He thrived off of the attention. He loved it. Practically bathed in it. He didn't care who he hurt. Not even me.

Although he had always swore he would never hurt me, he didn't realize that's all he was doing.

It was hard to see him at school. He was a completely different person. A rude, ignorant prick.

But what got to me the most, was the Slutty Redhead who got to hold the title of his 'girlfriend' while they were at school. I only got that title after school. At school, I had the title of a 'nobody'. While she got to show her affection towards him in front of everyone, I was kept a secret.

Nobody knew about me. No body knew about the girl he proclaimed his love to after school hours.

He didn't want anyone to know. He liked me being hidden.

I hated it. I was tired of Gingy's sloppy seconds, even though I've been 'dating' Aidan longer.

Of course, he never noticed. He never noticed that no matter how much cologne he drenched himself in, her fruity perfume still came through. He never noticed that no matter how hard he scrubbed at his neck, her pink lipstick stained his skin.

It was like he was trying to hurt me. Trying to tell me there would never be an 'us' outside of what we already had.

But of course, I could never leave him. I could never tell him how I felt. I just bottled up everything, until I reached my breaking point.

-

I placed my pen down, and stared at the black ink covered page. I had always been good at expressing myself. Well, before Aidan and I ever existed. Now, I had no choice but to write out my feelings, afraid of what would happen if anyone found out about us.

It wasn't like my family would care. Nor would my friends. It was just Aidan. For some unknown reason, he refused to let anyone know about our secret.

Of course, I eventually begged him to let me tell my best friend. I begged and begged until he had finally agreed.

I thought it would make things a lot easier, but it didn't. It was only a tiny bit easier. The only thing I had gotten from it, was a shoulder to cry on while Aidan and blondie made out in the halls, or in the cafeteria.

I sighed, as I closed my journal, and placed it in my bag.

I had only been up for an hour, and I already wanted the day to be over. I just wanted to climb back into bed, and skip the last remaining year of high school.

-

As usual, my first two classes were a bore. In Math, we were doing 'Advanced Word Problems', and in Geography, we sat there, the entire 75 minute class, looking at maps. There was no work attached to it. No, we just had to sit the and stare at the multicoloured pages of the Geographical Textbook.

"If I have to look at one more map, I'm bombing the school," Jason grumbled. Jason had been my best friend, since his mother hit my mother at a Yoga class for pregnant women and forced her into labor. Of course, Jason followed behind quickly, once his mother started panicking. He was the only one who knew about Aidan I.

"That, I can agree with," I mumbled. "No more maps,"

"What did you do in Math?" he asked, sliding into the lunch line, butting half the twelfth grade population as he did so.

"'Advanced Word Problems'" I muttered dryly. "I've done the same problem for a month straight, because our teacher probably spikes her early morning coffee," Jason laughed, grabbing two yellow lunch trays, just as Aidan and Gingy slipped in the line behind us.

"Tray for the lady?" Jason asked, wiggling his eyebrows as he held the tray out in front of me. He kept his gaze on me, and ignored the glare he was obviously getting from Aidan.

"A life for the dumbass?" I giggled, taking the tray out of his hand.

"Your words wound me," he pouts playfully.

"Being around you wounds me," I scoffed.

"Please. You love me" he replied, batting his eyelashes.

"Wow! Did these lunch trays get brighter?" I said, scratching the back of my head.

"Bitch," he growled.

"Jerk," I grinned.

"Idjit," he laughed.

"Assbutt," I finished.

"Awe, look at them, Aidi! They're such a cute couple! Why can't we be like that?" Gingy pouted from behind us.

"Cute they are," Aidan all but growled.

A twinkle formed in Jason's eye, as he leaned down, and placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Ugh! That's disgusting!" I whined teasingly at Jason, ignoring Gingy and Aidan. "Now I have to melt that side of my face off!"

"I'll melt the rest of your body later tonight," he smirked, flashing me a wink.

Shaking my head, I pushed through the rest of the line completely ditching Jason, Aidan, and Gingy.

"You retard!" I hissed, glaring at Jason once we reached our assigned study hall seats.

"Wuf?" he mumbled over the apple he stuffed in his mouth. I gave him a questioning glance, not quite understanding what he was saying. "What?" he tried again, after swallowing the apple.

"Don't you 'what' me!" I growled. "What the hell was that back there?"

"Please," he laughed dryly. "I've had enough of the way he treats you! He's a greedy manwhore! He prances around here like he owns the place, with that fucking slut glued to his arm like the STD's found in Miley Cirrus's vagina!"

"H-" I started.

"Don't you start with the 'Oh! He loves me! Oh! It's what he wants!' speech again, Riley. You know it's true," he slammed his hands down on the table, staring into my eyes.

I stared at my lap, and sighed.

"Yes," I frowned. "I know he doesn't treat me properly. The way a real boyfriend would. But I love him, dammit!"

"I know you do, Ri. And if he truly loves you, he'll show it. Even if we have to make him," Jason replied softly.

"What are you suggesting?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You'll see, Riley West. You'll see," he said, with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
