Selena fluttered from leaf to leaf, hopping and bouncing as she went along. The river was making small sounds, the fish were poking their heads out of the water to scoop flies of the surface. Selena paused under a flower to watch them for a while. She could smell smoke, and decided there was probably a group of humans at the parkplace, having a picnic. She knew that fairies weren't supposed to watch the humans, but today she couldn't resist. Humming like a hummingbird, she fluttered to the cabana, and sat on the edge. There were four of them, a mother, father, and 2 boys, one 13, one 5. The older boy was throwing a Frisbee and catching it on his own while the little boy was plucking petals off a daisy. Selena flew down and hid in the grass by the young boy's feet.

"Selena! Selenaaaaaaaa!" She heard a call from the edge of the woods and then saw the worried expression on her mother's face. She turned to see what her mother was looking at and felt a sharp tug on her wings as the younger boy pulled her up to his face. She tried to wriggle free from his grubby hands, but he held tight and crushed her wings. Selena screamed in pain.

"Mommy, mommy look what I found." He said turning, he dropped her. She plunged into the soft green grass. He stomped about looking for her. Selena tried to fly free, to fly away, but the boy had crumpled and crushed her wings in his strong grip. He found her, and pulled her up so she was looking directly into one of his eyes. She saw his other hand reach around and grab her by the arm. She was dangling.

"Don't fly away. I want to keep you forever." He smiled. Smiled as he ripped her wings from her back. Smiled as she screamed in pain, which sounded like a faint whisper to the young boy.

"Are you trying to speak to me?" He asked, then saw his mother coming.

"Darling put that bug down, Its dirty." She called.

"No one will take you away little woman." He said, Placing her in the pocket of his pants.

Then slapped his pocket to make sure she stayed...

Crushing her to death.
