Hope's Prophecy (Wings of Fire)

Prologue

Thousands of years after the Dragonets of Destiny, and their story, comes another. Another war, another choice, and another story. This is the story of one dragon. A dragon who's tales will be remembered forever, told on and on again. A dragon who will change the lives of all other dragons, forever. Her name was Hope.

The first sound Hope heard was a voice whispering in her head. Safe inside her unbroken egg, it was hard to make out the sound from the whirling wind of the blizzard outside, but it sounded... Like a song.

"When all else fails,

Hope we shall keep.

Hope will lead us,

Through the oceans deep.

Born in the snow,

A journey through the trees,

Raised in the wind,

For all whom she must please.

Walking in the darkness,

She sings to friends and foes,

But only one can hear her,

The only one who knows.

They sing for Hope,

But they must wait.

It cannot be to soon,

It cannot be too late.

But Hope will come,

And Hope will see.

This is the final place,

The place where she must be."

When the voice was gone, Hope fell into a peaceful sleep.
