The Forsaken Merman, 1892

This poem I also found in a horse book. It doesn't exactly have a name so the title you see above this is the play that it was in.

                                              Now  the great winds 
                                                  shoreward blow;
                                                 Now the salt tides
                                                    seaward flow;
                                               Now the wild white
                                                       horses play,
                                               Champ and chafe and
                                                   toss in the spray.
