Chapter 1: How Chespin Choose Me!

Hey I'm Castor Spring and this the dramatic story of my life. The story begins on July 2, 2015, the day I turned 12. My mom woke me up for breakfast and told me that Professor Rowan gave up being a professor and gave the title to his assistant Dawn. I asked her why she brought it up. She said,-

Castor's Mom: Oh nothing really. I just wanted to know if you wanted to become a trainer is all.

Castor: Mom t-t-this is amazing. Are you really about to let become a Pokémon Trainer!?!

Castor's Mom: Yeah Dawn offered a starter to you and the neighbor's kid. His name was Josh if I remember correctly.

Castor: Amazing! I'm going to get changed right now.

Castor's Mom: Ok. Don't forget to stop by Pokémart and say hi to your dad.

Castor: Ok mom.

I got changed into a black tee shirt and a white striped blue jacket. I also put on some baggy blue jeans and Pokémon League brand sock and Pokémon Trainer Red's actual cap. My dad won it when he defeated Red in battle, then he gave it to me on my last birthday. I ran out the door telling my mom I love her. On my way to the Sangem Town I run into a sign saying that the Kalos starters are available as well as the Sinnoh starters. I thought to my self, this is awesome! Six starters now that's cool. After a couple of hours I made it to Sangem. I went straight to the lab. It seemed empty so I yelled,-

Castor: Is Prof.Dawn here?

I heard a couple of footsteps as Dawn and Rowan walked down the steps talking about the problem with Team Galactic's reformation. I didn't know what that was so I ignored it and asked,-

Castor: Your Professor Dawn right?

Dawn: Yes, that is correct and you are..?

Castor: Oh right! I'm Castor Spring of Twinleaf Town.

Dawn: So your here for a Pokémon?

Castor: Yes ma'am.

Dawn: Alright, everyone out!

After she said that six Pokémon came running down the hall. One of them was carrying a Pokèball.

Dawn: By the way here's your Pokèdex. Use it to scan all the Pokémon.

Castor: Thanks Professor.

I put the Pokèdex in front of one of the Pokémon. Chimchar, the Chimp Pokémon.

Chimchar is a bipedal Pokémon resembling a chimpanzee. Its rear has a small, round, red patch that is usually obscured by flames produced by burning gas in its stomach. I though to myself, huh cool so that's Chimchar. I then put the dex in front of the next one. Piplup, the Penguin Pokémon.

The dark blue feathers on its head extend down its back and around its neck, which causes it to appear to be wearing a cape. There are two white ovals on its chest and a small, light-blue marking resembles a crown above its beak.
I put the Pokèdex up to the next Pokémon. Turtwig, the Tiny Leaf Pokémon.

On a very healthy Turtwig, the shell should feel moist. A small seedling grows on a brown patch on its head. This seedling will wilt if the Pokémon becomes thirsty. As a plant-based Pokémon, Turtwig usually nourishes itself through photosynthesis. I did this same process for each of the other three.

Castor: Wow there all so cool I can't choose which.

Dawn: Then let me help. What's your favorite type out of the three available.

Castor: Hum... I like grass types the most.

Dawn: Ok then you can choose from Turtwig or Chespin.

Castor: Aww man I can't decide.

All of a sudden Chespin walked up to me and handed me the Pokèball that was holding. Then it jumped up and tapped the button on the Pokéball, returning itself to the ball. Dawn assumed that Chespin was my choice and rushed me out the lab talking about their being an emergency. When I thought about what just happened I thought Chespin kinda choose me. I closed the lab doors as I walked out. After all that, I went to the Pokémart and told my dad everything that went down. He got excited and asked me to send out Chespin. So.. I did!

Castor: Go, Chespin!

Castor's Dad: Wow! I've never seen a Chespin. Tell me about Chespin.

Castor: I don't know much about it. Ah-ha ill use my Pokèdex to get some info.

I pulled out my Pokèdex and scanned Chespin. Chespin, the Spiny Nut Pokémon.

There is a tough, green shell covering its back, which extends from its head to halfway down its tail. There is a small, off-center hole in the shell on the back of Chespin's head. The shell can protect Chespin from powerful attacks.

Castor's Dad: Wow! Son... I love you and good luck on your journey. Here take these.

Castor: Thanks, but dad is it really okay for you to give me these super potions for free?

Castor's Dad: No it's not but what you don't know won't hurt.

Castor: Thanks dad, love you.
