Chapter 1: New Neighbour

Oliver's POV:
It was a typical day in the mission command centre. The five of us were trying to pin point the whereabouts of Roman and Riker after the whole encounter with them. We couldn't let them get their hands on all the heroes on the planet. Without them, what would the world do? After all the discussion, I went upstairs to get a glass of water until I heard a knocking at the door. Could it be a trap or a game that the villains were trying to play on us? I looked at the security monitor and saw a pretty girl with brown silky hair like Skylar's and the prettiest hazel eyes. She was wearing a nice casual floral dress with a sweater draping around it.

"Uh...hi. Name Oliver is." I said.

I felt like the biggest idiot on earth. I couldn't even keep a conversation with this girl.

"Hi! Nice to meet you Oliver. My names Emily. I was just wondering if this was the highest floor in the building."

"Uh."

My face turned red and I lost all thought.

"Yes. This is the highest floor in the building." interrupted Chase.

"Then I'm on the right floor! My dad and I just moved here from Canada. It's pretty cool to be here. Except I don't really know the city."

I brushed my hair aside and manned up which was unusual of me sometimes.

"I'll give you a tour." I replied quickly.

Chase smirked. I knew what he was thinking.

"Cool. Thanks Oliver. I really appreciate it. I live next door to you guys. Just come over any time you'd like."

"See you later!"

She then walked away and I closed the door giving a sigh of relief. Chase was laughing hard cause I had just embarrassed myself in front of a girl. Emily seemed sweet and kind.

"That was priceless."

"Shut up dude. I guess I already have feelings for her."

Chase then gave me a serious look.

"Oliver. You can't develop feelings for someone. You'll put their life at danger."

"How? Nothing bad is going to happen."

"Roman and Riker might find your love interest and kidnap her or use her against you. You can't be with her. Plus, Mr. Davenport wouldn't approve."

"I guess you're right. I'll just be friends with her. No more than that."

"Good. Now I'm gonna go downstairs and practice some combat. Have fun on your walk Mr. Tour guide" Chase laughed and then went down.

Chase was right. Love has to come last. I was sorta disappointed because this was the first girl I had a crush on after Skylar. Skylar and I could be a thing, but she doesn't want anything serious between us to happens. I guess all good things have to come to an end. With that, I grabbed my jacket and waited until the afternoon to go for the walk.
