From sapling to tree. Shadowlykos contest.

Saplings. You know them. Those irritating little bush like objects, that refuse to grow when you want them to. Well, all this is explained if you take a look at their lives.

They simply appear out of the leaf block that they call home, when it is destroyed. Then, they simply float on the ground, thinking such exciting things like, 'Wow. This grass is so green!' and 'Why is the ground so close?' as well as 'I think I'm supposed to be a whale? Isn't that what grows on trees?'. Unless a human picks them up, their entire life is spent floating, thinking nonsensical stuff.

If they're picked up however, they have a chance for a new life. But to achieve this, they must be placed down on a dirt block and left to grow or given bone meal. As this is a momentous change in their life, the first few days are spent in shock. During this period of time, often the only thought is 'What happened? Am I dead?'.

Soon after this, they start wanting to be tall. Besides, staring at people's knees gets a bit boring after a while. When this happens, they start growing phantom blocks. These are blocks you can't see or feel and can walk through. The phantom blocks take the form of a tree, then suddenly, in less than a second, they become solid wood and leaf blocks. The processor roaming the blocks is referred to as phantoming while becoming solid is known as entering reality.

Some saplings will develop a hostile consciousness, making the blocks enter reality as a player is standing on them, causing them to suffocate, and consequently, die. For this reason we advise to be cautious around saplings, for you never know, it could be hostile.

We asked a tree about its life and all it said was,
'Umm. It's okay. Can't complain much, mobs ignore me, rain doesn't bother me, I get a nice view of the sunset,'

it continued like that for a while,

'but I hate fire and humans. Always with the need for wood. Why? We don't chop YOU up and use you as a wall. I mean how would you like it? And if you don't stop, I'll kill you, yes, somehow, I know I'll fall on you! Yes that's it!'

We left rather quickly after it told us it would kill us if we didn't stop, as it was becoming clear we had picked a tree with a hostile consciousness. Not only that but we were bored of it talking about nature and grass and everything.

One last thing, the reason this story is here last is that I accidentally published it instead of saving as a draft. So yeah...
