I was a mistake // A Newt fanfiction.

Chapter 1~The box

I wake up in a strange place. Some sort of box. I can't remember anything. The box is going up I try to stand but lose my balance and fall. I can barely see the top. It's getting closer. Closer.

The box stops.

I shield my eyes when someone opens the door. I look up to see a group of boys staring down at me.

"It's a girl" one says.

"But only boys come up in the box" another one adds

A tall looking blonde boy jumps in making the box rattle. A rope gets tossed down with a small hole at the bottom just big enough for a foot. I stare at it. "well greenie what are you waiting for?" the tall boy asks.

"let me see" I hear a boy say" she's cute I've got dibs" he adds.

The tall boy looks at him and says "shut your shucking hole" I don't know what to do. I just sat cowering in the corner until the tall blonde looks at me and says "come on let's get you out of here."

I put my foot in the hole and someone starts pulling me up. The tall blonde grabs on to it and gets pulled with me.

"Follow me." he says when we get out of the box.

I look around to see a massive field surrounded by big stone walls covered in ivy. "Welcome to the glade"

He takes me to a wood like building leading me up the stair case to a small room. It was tidy with one bed and a small bedside table, a cupboard and set up in the corner is a table with two chairs.

"Sit" he says with a calm tone his accent showing through every word.

"My name is newt" he says "can you remember yours?" I do but I don't know if I should tell him. I shake my head.

"You'll remember in a few days. It's the only thing they let us bloody keep. Well I guess I should tell you the story." he begins to explain "So we all have the same story as you. We wake up in the box arrive here we can't remember anything and then they give us our names back...." when he's finished he says come on I'll give you the tour. He heads towards the door.

"Chloe" I say.

"What was that" newt asks

"Chloe. That's my name"

"Well come on Chloe lets go"

I follow him and he shows me around the glade. He then introduces me to ably who is the leader.

"ALBY " he calls

"What is it now newt "the man reply's he has dark skin and darker hair.

"The new greenie I want you to meet her"

"Her? What are you playing at?"

"Oh right she's a girl"

The man turns around and his eyes instantly widen "we never have had a girl around here"

"Well you do now" I say smartly.

"Oh and she's sassy. Minho better watch out." ably said.

"Minho?" I asked curiously.

"He's a runner." Newt added "he is in the maze mapping at the moment you will meet him later."

"Maze?" I ask with wide eyes.
