The Other Half

Part 1

There was at one point in time a woman who wanted children. The only problem however was that this woman was unable to give birth to any. She desperately wanted them though so she prayed every morning before starting her day and every night before she went to bed. One day, after several months, her prayers were heard and answered. The spirits had decided to bless the woman with twins. She was delighted of course! Her husband, unfortunately, was not. He left her after hearing the news and no one really knows where he went. All that is known is that by the time the twins were born several months later, he was out of the picture. When the woman went into labor, it lasted for several painful days to the point where the midwives who were attending to her began to get worried. On the fifth day, the twins were finally born and the woman, having had little sleep, fell unconscious. As she slept, the spirit council which had a gaurdian in charge to represent each of the realms, summer, winter, spring and autumn converged with the head gaurdian of the council,and agreed that knowing that the twins had power could prove to harm them should they stay in this world. With no other choice, they took the children from the midwives who fell into a dead faint, giving one, the boy, to a Guardian named August in the Summer realm and the other, the girl, to a Guardian named Ella in the Winter realm. Several hours later, the woman awoke to the frantic midwives who were searching for the children. She was devastated to learn that they were nowhere to be found but refused to sit around and do nothing. Though she only gave birth hours before, the woman, now a mother, set forth to find her children. She wouldn't know, however, that the two were no longer in her world. The two children grew up separated. The boy, who had decidedly been named Ash grew up in the Realm of Summer under the careful watch of his guardian August. The girl, who'd been named Maple, grew up in the Realm of Winter with her guardian Ella. As they hit the young age of twelve, they began developing the powers the spirits predicted them to. Ash discovered his talents at the same time, and admittedly on accident. Maple could freeze and control water and also control the weather and ash could control fire and anything with heat and he could also set himself on fire and not get hurt which he thought was the coolest thing in the world and would often be seen showing off to his friends,but as much as the twins loved having their powers they couldn't help but feel as though something was missing. As though another half of them was missing. After this the twins started to ask their guardians questions but every time they would ask they were turned down and told there were things they didn't understand. From there the twins would sit in their room night after night wondering what their guardian meant. Not being able to deal with the curiosity anymore the twins took things into their own hands. They each went to their head guardian, the ones representing their realm on the spirit council, and asked about the other Half. They weren't given many answers except for what realm the other lived in. So with this, one night when their guardian wasn't watching the twins snuck out to find their other half. Maple set out for the summer realm and ash set out to the winter realm. They both had to travel through different realms to get to the realm each one was looking for. Maple had to travel through autumn where she saw the beauty of the leaves changing color. She also had to travel to the mortal world which she didn't like very much. Everyone was so ordinary and didn't have any powers at all. She soon grew scared because she was out of her comfort zone. She started losing control and made it snow. She didn't know how the mortal world worked but she also didn't know someone was watching her. When she fell asleep that night she was captured. When she woke up she was chained up in an empty room. When she realized what had happened she she started to panic but this time her powers didn't work. There was some sort of shield around the room preventing maple from using her powers. Not knowing what to do she just sat there and broke down and cried and started to scream for help. Amidst all this ash was traveling through the realm of spring where he saw the flowers bloom which he honestly loved seeing but, he wasn't going to tell his friends that. After that he like his sister traveled to the mortal world. After figuring out where he was, he sat down on a bench to rest for a couple minutes. He closed his eyes and then got a vision of a girl who he assumed was the other half he was looking for who had made it snow with the power that she possessed and then there was a vision of her chained up in a room screaming for help. After waking up from this vision ash immediately got up and started looking for her aka his other half, who he could feel was close and somewhere in the area. Soon after maple got a vision of who she assumed to be her other half or from what she could guess was her brother looking for her. This made her determined to get out of the chains that were holding her. While trying to fight the chains a dark male figure came out from the corner. Maple who began to get scared again tried to get away from the villain but failed as she remembered she was chained up. The male figure started to walk closer and closer to maple, which freaked her out even more. She started to scream at him, "who are you?!" "What do you want with me?!" The villain just smirked and continued to walk towards maple. After a long silence the villain finally said " I know what you are." Maple just stared in utter confusion and said "what? I don't know what your talking about." The villain got angered by this and yelled "don't lie to me!" "I know you made it snow!" "And I know you're not from this world." He continued by showing maple a picture he took at the time of the phenomenon and explained " I had been doing research on the spirit world for years and when one of my tests was mysteriosly successful but no one beleived me and i was ridiculed and called crazy, but now that i have you i can finally finish my research and prove everyone wrong and destroy them." Maple looked at the picture and then looked at the villain with fear in her eyes now knowing the villain knows about her powers. Maple then said " what are you gonna do to me?" The villain replied with " I'm going to figure out what makes you special." And walked out of the room again with a smirk on his face. Maple again tried fight the chains and again was unsuccessful. She continued to yell " let me out!" And then continued to yell for help knowing no one would hear her. Luckily her brother did hear her through another vision. When this happened he knew instantly where his sister was and was determined to find her. Maple knew this and as she was having this vision the male figure came back into the room but this time with instruments such as knives and needles so he could do tests on her. Next the villain got one of the needles and filled it with a drug that would knock her out. Maple began to struggle and again began to yell "no!" "please, leave me alone!" Unfortunately her struggling did her no good. The villain got to her and began to give her the drug. As maple began to drift off the villain said "don't worry all of this will be over soon." Right before she passed out another figure came rushing into the room and knocked out the villain with a fireball. After that maple passed out from the drug that was previously given to her. She later woke up in a bed in a strange room with a worried boy sitting next to her in a chair. Once she fully came to it she suddenly got scared and sat up thinking she was still captured and said "where am I?!" The boy sitting next to her grabbed her hand and replied with "it's ok your safe now you're in the hospital." Quickly grabbing her hand out of the boy's grasp and moving away from him she said "who are you?" The boy replied with "my name is ash I come from the summer realm, I'm your brother." Maple just looked at him partially glad to see him and asked "how did you know where to find me?" Ash replied, "I had visions of you screaming for help, I could feel a connection, it was sort of like..." Maple answered "twin telepathy." "Yea" ash replied. "How did you know?" Ash asked. Maple replied with "I also had visions and I also felt that connection, I think you were looking for me, I could feel how worried you were." "Yea" replied ash calmly. All of a sudden amongst the smiling and catching up, the guardians from both realms walked in and the smiles faded from the twins faces and they instantly knew they were in trouble. Maple's guardian rushed to her side and said "oh maple are you ok?" "yes I'm ok now thanks to ash, with out his help I don't know where I'd be right now" maple replied. Maple's guardian then went to ash and said "thank you young man thank you for saving her." As ash was about to say something, ash's guardian interjected and said "you are still grounded for leaving with out my permission and also not leaving a note, I was so worried I didn't know where you went, you could have gotten hurt or died." Ash looking totally guilty "I'm sorry I just really needed to find my other half, my sister." At that moment both guardians looked at each other with total disbelief. Ash's guardian then said "so this is your sister?" "Twin sister actually." Ash said looking back at his sister smiling. Maple's guardian then said "I am so sorry for trying to keep you two apart." Maple a little confused looked at her guardian  and then looked at everyone else in the room and replied "well we're together now, that's all that matters." Ash's guardian again interjected "what do we do now? You two are from two different realms, how is this going to work?" Ash quickly replied with "well it's clear that we all need answers." Maple agreed and her guardian quickly interjected "I think the only way to find the answers you are looking for would be to find your biological mother." The twins agreed and also wanted to find the reason for the separation. The guardians agreed to help look for the twin's mother but didn't know where to start, it had been 12 nearly 13 years since the separation. After everything was settled maple was released from the hospital and then the twins and the guardians started the search for the twins biological mother.
