I really should've paid attention to what he said. I hope he didn't see me staring at her. Her hair. Her eyes. Her smile. Seriously now I should've been paying attention. I went there to learn something that weekend, yet I just stared at her... . Is this fate or just the Devil playing games with my mind? Even at church I couldn't keep my eyes off her... .
"Fifteen minutes left! Only fifteen minutes get a move on!" Oops! Fifteen minutes twelve pages. Maybe if I actually understood this. I guess I'm failing physics. So, "the car is moving... hits the wall... what speed does it hit the wall at?" What type of question is that! Great! Going from first in the class to failing physics. My mom's going to kill me. No phone, computer or music for the rest of the term. "Work out the force...". How do I do that again? I really am clueless. Maybe I should've studied instead of daydreaming and attempting poetry. " Five minutes left!" Stop thinking and just write something!
"So Divan, how was the test?" "It was okay." "How was it really?" she asked me again.
"Terrible, I barely wrote anything. I was too busy daydreaming."
"About last weekend?" asking me as if she reads me like a book.
"Yes, it was just so amazing. Peaceful enough to hear myself breath and my heart beat. A cooling breeze with blowing as the sun smiles. The mountains in the background, lush with vegetation that sang as the rain fell on the ground. The whispers of the little insects and the love songs of the birds. Just so peaceful...".
"We both know that's not what you were daydreaming about...", she said smiling at me. She reads me like a book.
"Yes, yes! It was about Venus. I can completely understand where she got her name from. Her beautiful brown hair, delicate and soft as silk. Her smile, teeth made of pearls. She's calm and quiet but also really fun to talk too. Yet as perfect as she is she's so insecure. She keeps all her troubles to herself yet she didn't mind telling all of it too me. That has got to mean something right?"
"Ooh mister hopeless romantic! Hopefully you've got a good plan..." "Still trying to figure out a plan..." (Whistle blows.)
"Well that's break, see you later!" she said and walked off smiling.
"But I'm helpless when she smiles..." I sang walking to class.
She's a friend like I've never had before... The way she knows me inside out. The way she listens to all of my stupid problems, and also the big ones. Some that only she knows. It amazes me how she still cares after it all... I guess it's a bit to late to regret it. I just have to put it behind me. Ah! This maths is so boring... It's all Greek to me. I'm absolutely failing this year might as well face it. These wall are just suffocating me. Their dullness. And the emptiness of my heart. Wish I had a real reason to be here.
"That's the end of the period guys. Enjoy the rest of your day!" Great, ten questions of maths homework, I really need to start waking up!
"So what's the plan?"
"I don't know the best I've got is a poem I wrote."
"How does it go?"
"Do you believe in love at first glance? Have you ever given it a chance? I believe it comes in many ways, and on the least expected days. Because of just one look, you can write a book. A moment not too long, can be turned into a song."
"Good idea, mister wordsmith." She smiles, hugs me goodbye and goes home. I'll give it to her on Sunday. At church ironically enough. But first there's Saterday... great!
