As I walked home from school, it was about 4:30, and it was golden hour. The sun hit everything so perfectly it made it seem so magical. It was late spring with the cherry blossoms falling slowly through the air. Living in Tokyo Japan is nice, because your never really cold in spring, even with the school uniforms. I'm usually the last one to leave the school, only because I like walking home at this hour. Sometimes I just stay late to finish my work. Plus the walk home is kinda long and I like walking alone, taking my time.
I don't have many friends, I have people I talk to. Not really counting them as friends. Dad gets upset and worried that I don't really socialize. But I've always been the wallflower. And that's okay, with me at least.
"Cam?" I heard a voice call my name in the distance. I turned on my heel and looked back. It was a boy from my English class who talks to me, his name is Aidan.
"It's Cameron." I replied.
"It's Cam, silly." He smirked, catching up to me. I turned and began walking.
"Mind if I walk with you?" He asked politely.
"I don't mind." I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.
The walk began silent, but Aidan quickly broke the silence. He started talking about how his day was and how it went, then ask how my day was. I don't usually talk much to him I usually listen to him in English class.
"My day was alright." I said quietly.
"Tell me how it went." Aidan smiled, nudging my arm. My cheeks got hot.
"Um.. Well I just went to all my classes and now I'm walking home with you." I said shyly.
"You're very cute, you know." He looked up and smiled. I glanced up at him my cheeks got hot again.
"No, that's not possible." I looked away.
"Do you not think your beautiful?" He asked and stopped walking.
"Uhh." I lost my words and stopped a few paces in front of him.
"Cause you are." He turned me by putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Stop Aidan. I am not beautiful, you're talking about the impossible." I looked him in the eye. His facial expression was worried for some reason.
"But I'm not-"
I huffed out a forced laugh, "Aidan, it's okay you don't had to lie."
"I'm not lying Cameron!" He took my wrist as I turned around.
"I've only known you for 9 weeks since the English class started, I don't see any beauty with that." I sighed.
"You should see from my point of view cause I see pure beauty in you. You have beautiful long brown hair and brown blue eyes and an amazing smile and the cutest nose and eyebrows and-"
"I'm a wallflower Aidan, and your the head captain on the lacrosse team with girls chasing after you left and right." I sighed.
"But I'm not going for those girls!"
"I don't care who your going for, you call a lot of girls beautiful." I kept my voice calm.
"Cameron." He just laughed.
"What?"
"You're so clueless." He smirked and continued walking.
I'm smarter than you, then I don't understand? I thought in my head.
He dropped me off at my front door.
"Have a nice evening Cam, I'll see you tomorrow." He smiled and waved, walking away.
"You to." I waved and opened the door.
"WHAT THE FUCK." I screamed, shutting my door. I sank to the floor, my dog Sammy came running in.
"I'm so confused Sammy, boys are so confusing!!!" Sammy only replied with a bark.
