Chapter 1: Better Left Unsaid

In this world, there are 8 kingdoms: Sciyra, Haflana, Eswal, Ebrua, Osmil, Puflana, Ioprus, and Udrium. These kingdoms live nothing but a simple 10-minute car ride away. The country, of Vandria, is quite known for its peaceful nature. As said by the citizens themselves. Nobody really starting any trouble, besides the occasional thief, and people being forever loyal to the royal families.

What was great about the royal families was that everyone knew each other, and were fairly close. The prince Sciyra, Jaebum, Jackson the prince of Eswal, Mark the prince of Ebrua, Yugyeom the prince of Puflana with his neighboring kingdom Haflana, which Bambam was the prince of. Youngjae, the prince of Ioprus, then Jinyoung, mostly called Junior, the prince of Osmil. Lastly you were the princess of Udrium. You grew up with all of them. You were 'lucky enough' to be able to grow up with them. Or so your maid says so. You had to admit you really were. You got to build a relationship with them, and know them personally. Not just when they had cameras on them. Or they were speaking on behalf of their parents being next to them. You got to understand them behind closed doors. And they got to know you. You were quite grateful.

Though, the closest you were to was Junior. He was your first and your only love. You were never going to love anyone else. You promised that when you were 7 and he was 9. You always looked up to him. He was great at everything: playing piano, singing, and if anyone asked you, you'd also say he was great at stealing girl's hearts. No one asked you, so you never had to say it, since everyone knew it.

If you had to choose the second closest to you; it'd be Mark. He was like your older brother. Even if he comes off silent to everyone else, to you and the rest of the princes he wasn't that quiet. As children, he was always watching out for you. Especially Jackson when he went too far in trying to win over your heart. That was another thing. Jackson was in love with you. Ever since you were children he was. You couldn't return the feelings. He was like your brother. Though, that didn't stop him. He told you it was just a matter of time before you realized you loved him. You just decided to let that fact sit to the side. Besides that, everyone else's relationship with you was fine. Except Jaebum, well JB. You didn't know what he thought of you. However, you didn't think much of it.

Today you and Mark were getting called to your parent's office. Which was really odd. Both of you must have done something, you thought. Mark and you sat next to each other on the comfy black arm rest chairs. Awkward silence filling the rather fancy looking room. The walls were a maroon color with a golden border going around the corners, your idea of course.

Your mother then parted her lips, a smile forming, "So, Y/N, your father and I have been thinking... and we think that you and Mark should marry." Your eyes widened as you choked on her words. Mark had the same look of horror however the quieter version.

"Mom," you began as you shook your head, "Mark and I don't have feelings for each other like that. We see each other as close friends. Why would you want us to be—"

"—Junior suggested it." Your father informed you as he looked at you. Your heart sank at his words. Junior suggested you both should get married? Mark could tell by your silence that you were most likely shutting down internally. He cleared his throat.

"Sir, Y/N and I have no intentions with being together. She is actually in love with—"

You interrupted him before he could finish his sentence, for some reason the truth made you want to scream or hide. "We just don't want to marry each other. You don't always have to listen to what Junior suggests." After saying that you stood up. "Sorry to disappoint you both."
