"Stupid move Hayes

"Stupid move Hayes. Just down right stupid." Jase shook his head as he placed my hand cuffs back on.

I laughed at how serious his face was. Normally I would snap on anyone who stepped out of line and had an opinion. Jase was like a father figure to me so I respected him. He was in his sixties and working on retirement. I ran into him years ago as a child and from there on he's been a part of my life by fault

"Man tell me that was a fucking joke. Her young ass-"

"First wipe that damn smirk off of your face. Second her young ass is the current top female attorney in this city. She may just be twenty years old with a face of a fourteen year old but she stay on top of her game. She's been winning cases since she passed the Bar two years ago. The clients she has had ran from petty robbery crimes down to ruthless killers. The woman knows what she is doing and for you to let her just walk out of here is just naive." He opened my holding cell and walked me in.

"Whatever. I don't even need a lawyer. I didn't kill that boy." I shook my head.

"I know you didn't but the way you been acting says otherwise. I need for you to get it together. Your bail hearing is tomorrow and you better act right. Matter fact you better hope she shows up for your dumb ass." Jase closed the cell gate and walked off without another word.

I shook my head again and sighed. Messing around and being careless I got myself caught up.

2:45 p.m.

I sat up confused as my cell opened. Jase nodded his head for me to follow him. Without a word I was led back to the visitors room where I had met with my supposed attorney earlier. Taking a seat I awaited for whatever was to come.

"Mr. Hayes care to try this again?" I flung my head back in annoyance when I heard her voice again.

"Man I was about to take this good ole nap and-"

She slammed her hands on the steel table. "You got a bail hearing in fifteen minutes. Now I can go in there and make them keep your behind in here or make them let you off until your trial. What would it be?" She crossed her arms.

I looked over at her debating id I wanted to piss her off anymore. Taking a quick moment I nodded at her full appearance. I could tell that she was bi-racial and that beneath that suit had the model type of body.

"You think I did it?" I asked out of curiosity.

Not many people can stare me in the eyes and accuse me of doing such malicious crimes. Ms. McKinley here seemed like one of those who could.

"Honestly I can care less if you did or didn't. It sounds bad but I have a job to do. True I can play the other field and make you guilty of a crime that you did or didn't but then I'm left without a pay check. A job to be exact. Mr. Hayes where were you June fifteenth at eight pm?"
