The Only Ones Left

Where is everyone?

As me and Megan walked down the empty corridor, we heard screams in the distance. Blood sprayed the walls of the hall, as well as the classroom windows. Suddenly, the door at the end of the corridor creaked open and a person came out. "H-Hey! Wh-" I began but Megan cut me off by grabbing my arm. I gave her a confused look and turned back to the person... They had pale skin that was rotting away and blood soaked their ripped clothes. We had no idea what it was.

"It's coming towards us, Megs.. " Megan couldn't hear me as she was too focused on her old friend. "Run!" I shouted as I pulled Megan away. Then with a blink of an eye she tore her focus from the person and started to run.

As we turned the corner we sat down on the blood stained floor. We tried not to make a sound as the creature was near us. In a whisper, Megan said, "What are we going to do?" As I thought of what to say, I saw someone else creep out of a classroom... It was Rhiannon. She wasn't in sight of the creature so I let out a sigh of relief.

Rhiannon had blood on her hands and she wore a terrified expression. Her knees felt weak and they buckled, causing her to drop to the floor. I ran up to her to see if she was alright. It looked like she was conscious still so I carried her to where Megs was...
"I hope she's alright.." I said, worry present in my tone. We had to find somewhere to hide before anymore of the creatures find us.

We walked down another corridor that was filled with the same rotting corpses from before. I found the door which led to the cafeteria. "Let's hide there," I said with a hushed voice, pointing to the door.

We quickly rushed into the empty cafeteria. Surprisingly no one was in there. Since Rhiannon was in my arms it was hard to run. It slowed me down and we had to be careful.

We made our way into the cafeteria and looked back in case we were being followed. I put Rhi Rhi down on a chair. I locked the door and me and Megan worked together to put tables and chairs in the way of the door. This way, nothing could get us. Almost immediately after me and Megan finished, the curly-haired girl woke up and looked around.
"W-Where am I... Angel? Megan..?"

Me and Megs looked at each other and we both sighed. We were thinking the same thing. Rhiannon hadn't remembered what happened. I didn't know what to tell her and I didn't want to worry Rhi Rhi.

Suddenly, we heard a loud bang on the door on the other side of the cafeteria. "Did you hear that?Someone's at the door." Rhiannon said. Then after the banging on the door we heard a voice, it sounded like Elliot and Jade. "Angel! Let us in!.. " I heard Elliot call out so I ran to the door. I opened the door and Elliot and Jade came rushing. They were panting and they sat down to rest. I then started piling up chairs at that entrance.

"What happened to you, Elliot?" Elliot took a deep breath and leaned his head back against the wall, "I found Jade unconscious in one of the classrooms so I woke her up.. W-We saw you and Megan so we followed you guys," He stammered, sweat beading down his forehead.

Meanwhile, Megan hugged Jade as soon as she stepped foot inside the room. "I thought I lost you," The blonde sniffled, her arms wrapped around Jade. Jade looked up and gave Megan a small smile, "W-Well I'm here now." The two stayed together. Then Elliot sighed, "Cameron and Tommy got split up from us. I don't know if they survived." When he finished I hugged him tightly. His eyes widened in surprise. I was so happy to see him again.

I noticed a vending machine in the corner by the entrance so I kicked the glass. After a few more kicks the glass shattered. Rhiannon walked up to me and took off her bag, "Hey, we can put some water in here." I began to take the bottles of water out of the machine and put them in the bag. Rhiannon began looking around the cafeteria and found a note on the wall. She read it out loud, "It's telling us to go to a hospital, the one in Colchester and there's gonna be many people there so we're not alone."

We talked to the others about it and we all agreed to set off tomorrow morning. We better get some rest now.

Maybe we might see Millie and Lilly on the journey.
