"But mommy I don't want to go!" Katie whined.

I rolled my eyes.

"Well I'm sorry that you don't but have to! Your grandfather is super excited to see you!" Mom said hurrying to pack.

"Well, I still don't want to leave." Katie pouted.

I knew my grandfather wasn't excited to see us. In fact, I met him before Katie was born. He is a strict old man who lives in Tennessee by a boring forest, with no one to love.
Sorry but it's true, our grandmother passed away before I was born and Katie. My mom never met her either. She was two years old when she died. But our grandfather never talked about it. But I can understand that. Well, atleast that's the only thing I understand.

"So, Kyle!" Mom said while frantically packing. "Are you excited to see grandfather?"

I looked up from my sketchbook and stopped sketching and thought about my answer carefully. Mom can get really mad if you say what she doesn't want to hear.

"Well, I mean it could be fun but..."

"Good." Mom said breathlessly as she sat next to me on the couch."Okay, so i'm done packing you and Katie's stuff. All I need you to do is take your bags and put them in the trunk of the car. Your dad and I will get the rest."

I did as my mom said and grabbed my bags and put them in the trunk of the car and ran back to the house so no one would look at my sketches in my sketchbook. ( I don't know why I don't want anyone to look at my sketches, they are really good, I just feel like people will hate them and say they're bad and judge me.)

I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil, and walked up to my mom who had a couple of suitcases in her hands. "I did it."

"Oh that's good sweetheart. Now go get in the car wait for us, we are leaving soon."

Why do I even have to go? All I wanted to do this summer is sketch, listen to music, and hang out with my friends! Well, it's only going to be a couple of weeks, so I might as well make some fun out of it.
