You know something?
Guns don't go off with a bang. Backfiring cars do. Sweet sixteens do, figuratively speaking. Not guns.
They fire with a... crack. An ear-splitting ground-shaking crack that holds the power and force to knock a grown man off his feet. Can you imagine what it feels like? The knowledge that with a twitch of your finger-
You can take a life. You can silence the beat of a heart. You can put out that eternal light.
But you won't.
Harper Cole is an ordinary girl. As ordinary as ordinary gets, in fact- to everyone else. They think she daydreams and cares only about pulling A's in every class and never, ever, does naughty things. Alcohol? Forget about it. Boys? Don't even go there.
But, like everyone, she's got her own problems. A military dad, resorting the drink to chase away the trauma. A short-tempered, selfish mother, caring more about guys than her own daughter. No one knows about her secret trips to the firing range, or the three attempts on her life, or the truth about her brother's disappearance. And she intends for it to stay that way.
But Julian Shade, the silver-eyed new boy, is determined to dig out the skeletons in her closet, and solve all her problems. And it's clear that there's no stopping him.
So Harper settles on the next best thing. She's going to find out who Julian really is. She's going to find out where his seemingly unending flow of money comes from. She's going to figure out his mysterious ability to predict everything, and she's going to do it before he discovers the real Harper.
But Julian Shade may be a little more than she bargained for.
This is my first story like this, with a good girl and a bad boy- well, a dark angel bad boy, but honestly, same thing. Please be considerate and give feedback, but don't be unecessarily negative. Please don't hate. If you don't like the story, then don't read it. It's as simple as that.
