Screen (xEngineer)

"If you like him so much, why don't you just go talk to him? I go there all the time for briefing. You should come along!"

You suddenly grew white.

"O-oh no.. you know how shy I am with people I don't know v-very well..! And.. I'm just a nerd.. doing paperwork. He wouldn't like me.."

Jane laughed at your sudden change of attitude.

"C'mon! You always watch him on the screen! And collect anything he leaves behind in the battlefield.."

You gave a cough.

"Anyways you know how sweet he is! Why don't you just go talk to him?"

"I dunno... it-"

"I need those papers girls!"

And with that, you both continued your work.

A few days had passed, and it was
another day of battle. BLU won another fight and it left the REDs running from raining bullets. It broke your heart to see your crush, the Engineer having to run from his little sentry nest, but you knew the drill. BLUs win sometimes, the REDs won others. It was a cycle that you never got used to.

You and Ms. Pauling were sent to the empty battlefield to clean up the mess. With bags of shovels, guns, and other nessessities, you both set off.

The battlefield was completely empty. It was hard to imagine just a moment ago it was filled with screams and sounds of explosions. It was now just an empty coal mine, that echoed your every footstep.

Ms.Pauling pointed over to a heap of rubble.

"Hey, there's a piece of- Engineer?"

You both froze, and you saw the RED Engineer packing something up.

"Ms.Pauling? What're ya doin' out here?"

"Just out to clean your mess as usual"

"Heh, sorry 'bout that, the BLUs really did a number on us. Didn' even have time to pack mah sentries!"

Engineer looked behind Jane.

"Oh! Didn' see ya there. It's (y/n), right?"

You gave a small nod and stood behind Jane again.

"Ah haven't seen ya much before. You both work together a lot don' cha?"

Jane smiled.

"Yeah.. but she's not much for fieldwork"

Dell gave a click of his tongue.

"Darn shame! Hidin' that pretty face indoors, ya should get out more!"

You turned beet red, and Jane seemed to have a sly smirk on her face.

"Well... I gotta go check the back, can you help (Y/n) out Dell?"

You turned to Jane and gave her a mortified look.

"Sure! What do y'all need to do?"

Ignoring your silent protest, Ms. Pauling gave a wide grin and continued.

"Oh, the RED respawn needs to get checked out. And I think it needs a bit of cleaning, Scout didn't clean up that Bonk! He spilt right?"

"Nope"

"Well then! I'll see you guys later!"

And with a mischiveous grin, Jane waved goodbye, slinging her workbag over her shoulder.
