She walked through the woods and scanned her surroundings. It was a marvelous sight to see. Glistening rocks that towered over her where glowing a light bluish color underneath the moon light. The sky was dark blue and sprinkled with shimmering stars. The trees where tall and covered in untouched fluffy snow. She walked cautiously making sure her white gown wouldn't touch the ground while taking in the beautiful sight.

"Wednesday Andromeda'" She heard a soft calming voice call out from behind her.

She hesitantly turned her head to find the owner of the voice. It was an impeccably fair woman with white hair and eyes matching the glistening blue rocks surrounding her. She wore a pale blue Victorian dress and on her shoulder sat a white mouse.

"Who are you?" Wednesday stammered and stepped back from the woman.

"Welcome home." She smiled before turning around and beginning to walk into the woods. As she walked, the trees around her turned black as well as the sky. Even the glimmering rocks began to dull and fade. A chorus of screams and cries began to boom all around her and fear spread through her veins like venom.

She leaped from her bed and whipped the sweat from her forehead onto her palms. After taking a couple deep breaths, she glanced at her alarm only to realize she had over slept. She quickly ran to the bathroom which was beginning to look like one from a run down motel. She splashed water on her face and looked into the rusted mirror. Her appearance matched that of a ghost. Bags hung from underneath her plain black eyes which complimented her curly black hair. Her skin was pale and wrapped tightly around her bony figure.

Taking yet another deep breath, she exited the bathroom and walked to her drawer. She pulled out a plain baggy grey shirt and baggy worn jeans. Considering she was already almost late, she decided to skip the shower and just get dressed.

Wednesday crept out of her room and searched for her mother. She hoped that she would be asleep still so she could avoid any conflict. As she entered the the kitchen, she found the passed out figure of her mother with a bottle of vodka in hand. She let out a sigh of relief. Most people would be scared to death if the found their mom like this, but this was such a recurring thing that it no longer fazed her.

She pulled on her army jacket and grabbed her shoulder bag before heading out. She jogged down the stairs of her New York apartment complex and avoided eye contact of the other low life's inhabiting the building.

When she finally made it down the stairs, she walked passed the front desk and felt a pair of eyes burning holes through the back of her head. She knew exactly who those eyes belonged to. Mr. Perry, the owner of the building.

"Hey, Tell your madré that she has one more chance before I throw both of you out on the street. You owe 2000$ to me chica and I'm through with be Mr. Nice guy." He hissed but she continued to walk without looking back.

"Sure thing." She muttered.

She knew that her time with a roof over her head was dwindling and since she was only 15, there wasn't much she could do. As for her mother, Archnè Andromeda, she stopped leaving the house after the death of her husband.

She walked out and made her way down the crowded sidewalk. Tourists gave her dirty looks as they passed but she ignored them and continued on her way. After all, Wednesday had come accustomed to the glares and disgusted looks.

She let out a sigh of relief as she reached the bus stop just in time for the bus to arrive. She climbed up the stairs to the rusted vehicle only for the driver to stop her. He let out a sympathetic sigh "Come on, you know I can't let you on if you don't pay. We go through this every day, kid." He spoke with his thick Brooklyn accent, tapping on the machine beside him.
