Everyone knows why people lie. They do it to get out of trouble, to make the other person feel better, to make themselves feel better, or they do it as a simple excuse to get out of something. Well, there was a guy I knew who did this, and I was blind to it. I sometimes wonder why I couldn't see the lie. Why couldn't I have seen it?

Anyways, his name was Alex. He was pretty much everybody's sunshine. If you're feeling down, he'll pick you right up! If he sees you're alone, he'll go right up to you and introduce himself, get your name, and strike up a conversation! So with this quality, a lot of people knew him in my school. No, he was not popular. He hates the stereotypical people. But it wouldn't be weird if you heard, "Hey Alex!" in the hallways one or two times.

Back to the lying. I was his best friend. We always say with each other at lunch together with other people, told secrets; we were basically the happy relationship of a brother and sister. But one week he didn't go to school. It was after a something tragic.
