After years and years of morning classes, it's finally lunch break. Kara and I proceeded to the cafeteria filled with all different typed of cliques. Jocks, Preps, nerds, artists, slackers, cheerleaders, we are all divided into groups. But I never cared, that's their life, not mine.
"Ruby, let's go before the line starts to grow longer." Kara said as she pulled the arms of my jacket.
"Yeah, sure." Then we grabbed the trays and began to line, with her in front of me.
As always, Kara ordered the Vegan special, and soda (she wasn't a vegan, but she's afraid of gaining too much weight, soda's sugar was enough, so she always order the vegan salad). While I just ordered a simple sandwitch, green apple and fries.
"I still can't believe it." Kara exclaimed, as we sat on our usual table in the middle of the cafeteria.
"I think Mr. George is failing me mon purpose! I mean, I understand that he hates me and all, but that doesn't mean that he'll fail me." She said, as she took a sip from her soda, then stabbed her salad before shoving it inside her mouth.
"Want me to hide an anaconda in his desk?" I asked, gradually eating my sandwitch.
"Gladly." She said as we burst out laughing. Mr. George hates almost every student in his class, well except me and three other guys.
"You're lucky he doesn't hate you, God, I wanted to claw his eyes out." She said as I toyed with my fries. I really love hanging out with Kara, we may not be sisters by blood, but we are sisters by heart. Kara had this round face, naturally brown hair, and her eyes are rounder, with a perfect shade of hazel brown, her skin tone's tan but not too dark, just like two shades darker than mine. She's had the same height as me, and a lot curvy.
I finished the last bit of sandwitch, and fries. "Go ahead an mourn over your grades while I wash my hands," I said as I stood up, my thighs pushed my chair a bit to hard and I heard someone crash against it.
"Sh*t!" I heard someone curse, I looked to see who it was. Lucas Johnson. A soccer player, but I never see him practice with my brother, but maybe he plays outside the school. I don't really are anymore. Milk was spilled all over his leather jacket, his mashed potatoes spilled on his shoes, and his orange rolled under the table across us.
"Oh my God, I'm sorry; i-it was just an accident!" I apologized as I took a clean napkin from our table and wiped his jacket. But he pushed me away, hard.
"What the hell Valentine! I know you did this on purpose!" His voice booms across the cafeteria, making everyone look over at us. Heat rose though my cheeks.
"I-I didn't! I swear, I didn't see you there, and-"
"Cut the crap. You know what," He began as he took a step closer to me, I can see his blue-green colored orbs staring into my sould, I tried to put up a brave face, but it ended up a fail, our faces are only inches apart, I can smell his breath, lavender and oranges. "You remind me of a porcelain doll," he said in a husky voice which sent chills down my spine. "A dumb, brainless, useless, porcelain doll, you seem like one, anyway." What!? Oh he did not just say that to my face. "Better watch your back." He warned as he walked away.
I let out a loud scoff. "Okay, stop being such a jerk, Johnson." I yelled, which caused him to look back. "I already apologized, I even tried to help you, but you pushed me away, and now you're mad!?"
"You know what, I don't have time for this." He simply said as he walked away just like that.
"Jerk." I muttered under my breath as I walked away as well towards the opposite direction.

"Look, I don't care if you think he's hot, Kara." I exclaimed, as I fluffed my hair in the Girl's Room.
"You totally made a scene out there, Ruby." Kara said as she reapplied her cotton candy colored lipstick.
I groaned. "I'm scared, Kara, that's what I'm worrying about. What if someone took a picture or a video of that argument?" I said. "I mean everybody's in love with him and will totally take his side" I sighed. It's true thoough. Lucas was hot. He was A built athelete. He was a soccer player. He had this brown hair and his eyes are so exotic it drastically changes from blue, to green, to grey. He's tanned as well, probably almost like the skin tone of Kara, but a shade lighter. He's perfect. Everybody loves him. And what does that make me?
"You're probably right. And I know what you're thinking." I heard Kara say, I turned to face her,and she met my eyes. "You're probably thinking that he's a God, that he's respected, and he's perfect, and you are no match for him." She said, I threw her a confused look. Is she a psychic? She sighed. "Ruby, let boys be boys, and so what if he threatened you. What? Are you gonna run away? Afraid of him? Just pretend that this argument never happened in the first place and show him your sweetest smile, but don't lose the sass." I then let out a sift giggle. "You may be a girl, but he's just a guy." She said.
I shrugged. "Maybe you're right. If I fought back, it'll only make things worse." I said, looking at her again "You're the best friend I ever had Kara. Thanks." I said as I hugged her, and she hugged me tighter.
