Kaylin's P.O.V

"Kaylin! Kaylin! Kayyyyy-"

"What!" I hissed at Cara. She smiled innocently.

"Why are you always so grumpy?" She giggled.

"Because I have to wake up everyday and see your face." I answered.

"Whoaaaa, alright. Someone's on her-" I quickly clamped her mouth shut with my hand.

"Don't you say it. We're in the library and everyone can hear us." I reminded her. I felt her tongue swipe across my palm, causing me to immediately retreat my hand and wipe the saliva on my black jeans.

"Period," She whispered as I groaned loudly. The librarian shushed me and went back to staring at her computer. I rolled my eyes and stood up. I slammed my book shut and picked it up before walking out of the library. Cara didn't even bother to follow me.

The bell rang, signaling 4th period was over. The hallway suddenly became crowded as students darted for their 5th period class. It oddly got quiet and all I could hear was a deep husky voice. There was a crowd circling around something. Curious, I tried to gently push past people.

I stood on my toes and watched as a tall boy picked up a familiar jock. The boy had several tattoos, but, you could tell his red plaid shirt was covering half of them. His hair was curly and somewhat styled into a quiff. I had to admit, he looked really intimidating.

"What the hell did you call me?" The boy growled.

"F-Freak," The jock answered in a nervous tone. People whispered and watched as the boy raised his right fist, slamming it in the jocks face before dropping him on the ground. My eyes widened at his how strong he was. The boy bent down and hovered over the jock.

"Watch what you say around me." He whispered, although everyone could hear.

"What is this? Break it up!" I heard a teacher yell, causing the crowed to move away from the scene. The boy stood up and listened to the teacher babble about getting a detention on his first day. So, I'm guessing he's the new kid. The teacher grabbed his arm and dragged him down the hall. I watched until his eyes suddenly landed on me.

His dark green eyes remained on me until he walked passed me. A shiver ran up my spine as I walked down the hall, trying to forget the previous encounter. I looked back and noticed the popular kids trying to help the jock. I looked away from his bloody face. How could a human punch cause that much damage?

I shook my head and headed towards my 5th period class. Unfortunately, I had the same class as the intimidating boy. A couple minutes into 5th period, he had walked in and quietly took a seat without answering any of the teachers questions. The teacher had given us an assignment in our textbooks. As I was copying the problem down on a piece of paper, I could feel someone staring at me.

I uncomfortably squirmed in my seat before looking around the classroom. My eyes landed on the boy. He was already staring at me. He broke his gaze and looked down at the paper on his desk. I quietly sighed and finished writing the problem.

"I can't wait for Friday, Kaylin!" Tony smiled at me.

"It's not a date," I reminded him. He sighed.

"I know it's not. You don't have to keep telling me!" He glared at me.

"Jeez, sorry." I apologized. He's too sensitive for my liking. "I'll see you guys tomorrow." I announced, walking away from an angry Tony and a quiet Cara. I admired the beautiful day as I walked down the sidewalk.

I made it home just in time for my parents to argue, again. I shook my head and walked up the stairs, into my room. I shut the door and laid on my bed. As soon as I closed my eyes for a brief moment, a pair of mysterious dark green eyes invaded my mind. All I wanted to know from 5th period was why had he been staring at me?
