Chapter 19: Memory Failure (Cameron's p.o.v.)
"Logan?" I said, then walked into his room.
I found him sitting on the floor leaning against the wall near the corner. And to tell you, it seemed really odd. For him at least. Me, not so much.
"Logan... are, are you okay?"
"I don't know." I heard him say weakly.
I walked over and sat next to him.
"You know, their probably going to get mad at me for coming in here." I said to lighten the mood.
"Why would they do that?" He questioned.
"Well, uh, because they think that you need some time alone or something like that." I shrugged. "But, I do have to agree, but then I don't." I continued.
"Smart." He nodded.
"Soo, eh, why are you on the floor?"
He shrugged. "Don't know. It seemed right."
Now I'm confused. How does sitting on the floor seem right?
"How?"
"Everything in here, doesn't feel like mine. So... that's all I got."
"Okay." I'm still confused. But I'm slowly piecing everything together. "So then, like... you, don't feel like it's yours so you don't want to touch it?"
"Yeah I guess." He said looking down.
"Oh."
"Cameron?"
"Huh?"
"What, what was I like? You know, before."
Oh boy.
"Well, uh, you see, we... we didn't get along. We haven't talked to each other in years before the other day. All mom's plan I bet. But you, you were......... I don't know." I finally said, and sighed.
I don't know what he was like before. I wasn't part of it. Hell, he didn't even mention me to his friends. Not, that I did the same thing. Okay, well they knew I had a brother. But didn't know who he was.
"Kendall mentioned that I never told them about you. Do you know why? Or if he was just joking or something."
"He wasn't joking. You never told them about me. Not till I showed up. You and Kendall picked me up from the air port and, by the way that things were, I don't think they knew till after I was already at the house. Hell, I told them I was your sister."
"You told them?"
"Yup." I started to laugh, remembering when I told them. There faces were hilarious. "I told them when we were all out at dinner. Their faces were priceless, yours too. They spit out there drinks and everything. You looked like you either wanted to punch something or run and hide. I'm not sure."
He cracked a smile at that. "Really?"
"Really."
"So then, was I ashamed to have you as a sister then?" He asked.
"You know. I don't know. But I'm sure it wasn't that. It was just us being us. Stupid."
"We're that stupid?"
"It depends. And don't forget hot-headed. We're defiantly that."
"Do we share things in common?"
"Besides getting into fights with each other? Not really, just the occasional small things. Nothing big."
"Am I a good singer?"
"Why would you ask that?" I said confused.
"You guys said I was in a band." He said like it was obvious.
"Right. Yeah, I guess I would say you were."
"Were?" He said confused.
"Are. I mean are."
"No, you meant were. You don't think I can sing again, or will." He stated.
"No, it's not that. I meant-"
"You meant what you said." He said cutting me off.
"No you don't get it. I meant that-"
"That I wont be anymore."
"No. I meant that you are temporarily."
"I don't think that's what you meant."
"Yeah but it is what I meant."
"I still don't think so."
I was just about to argue right back, when I realized that we were arguing. And well, I started to laugh. I couldn't help it. It just came out. It's not like it is a funny thing, but as that we're actually doing something that we always do.
Logan stared at me funny. "Why are you laughing?"
"Us." I told him.
"And that made you laugh?"
"We're arguing." I told him when I managed to pause laughing.
"You're point.?"
"This. This is what we do. We argue!" I said, and threw my arms around him giving him a hug.
And that's when Kendall came in. I only figured out 'cause he cleared his throat to get our attention.
"Hey." I said smiling at him.
"Hi." He replayed. "How are you?" He then asked Logan.
He shrugged. "Don't know."
"Alright. Well uh James is gonna go out get some food. Anybody want anything?"
The next day the guys had a meeting to go to. Now that Logan was awake he had to go also. I figured it was mostly about how Logan was going to be able to work.
I didn't want to leave the house, and I also didn't want to say home alone. It was a hard choice to make. But I eventually gave in and went with them outside.
The thing I told my self was, we are going somewhere where there are a lot more of people and Ryan can't get to me or any of them with so many people. But at the back of my mind he could easily take someone or hurt someone because there will be so many people. I pushed that aside and left with the guys.
