|Chapter Thirteen|

The hospital was eeire, it seemed like that same shadow would walk into the room at any moment.

The door unlocked, making her jump, it was just a policeman, the kind policeman that had helped at the accident.

"Where are my mum and dad? Are they okay?"

The police officer frowned letting her know already that something was wrong.

"Dakota?" Matt whispered nudging her to wake up.

She fluttered her eyes open and looked up at Matt, smiling at him. But then she suddenly realised that she was in the middle of a Maths lesson, she gasped a little sitting straight up before the teacher noticed.

She felt Matt chuckle, so she looked at him and nudged him, smiling also.

**

Matt and Dakota held hands whilst walking around school, and for the first time since the accident, nobody glared at Dakota, they didn't pick on her, they just left her alone.

"Come on, let's go get your books from your locker, then we'll go to the canteen and get something to eat before next lesson." Matt whispered as they walked down the corridor.

Dakota grinned and nodded. "Okay then, sounds like a plan."

As they got to the locker, Dakota noticed something sticking out of her door, paper, she pulled it out, frowning, it was an envelope which had;

"Open this on your own."

Scribbled onto the front of it.

Dakota quickly placed it into her jacket pocket, then she unlocked her locker.

"What was it?" Matt asked.

"Nothing."

"Well, obviously it was something, I saw you looking at it. What did it say?"

"Nothing! Don't worry Matt." Dakota replied, now closing her locker again.

He frowned. "Was it about me?"

She shook her head. "No, it was an envelope, I'll open it later, I'm not doing it now."

"Go on, do it now." He said. "What if it's about me?"

She shook her head, walking ahead of Matt slightly. "Matt, it's nothing to worry about, I'm sure, and if it is about you, I will tell you. At the moment it's just an envelope, nothing more."

Matt looked like he was about to continue arguing, but then Tom approached them both smiling.

"It's good to see you back in school Matt, we'll continue our sessions after the holidays though. And don't forget that you have a meeting with me straight after last lesson Dakota." He said to them both.

Dakota smiled and nodded. "I didn't forget. See you later."

Herself and Matt then continued to go to break.

**

"How has life been at home then?" Tom asked Dakota.

She shrugged. "Okay. Matt's moved in with me until he can get a place of his own, he doesn't know if he will get one yet, he's attempting to get a small job to help him."

Tom looked shocked. "Oh, he's moved in with you?"

Dakota nodded and smiled. "We're kind of dating now, so I don't mind."

"That's good that you're happy, but Matt is a very...different person, he can be dangerous when he loses his temper Dakota. Hasn't he warned you of his problems?"

Dakota shook her head. "No, it doesn't bother me. I know how he can get, I've learnt to deal with it by now."

"Oh, no Dakota. You haven't met the angry Matt yet. He can be very dangerous indeed and cause harm to you, I need you to look out for yourself."

Dakota frowned. "What is it with Matt? Everyone thinks he harms people, he doesn't he's kind."

"I noticed that you were having a bit of a scrap with Matt earlier. What was that about?"

She shrugged. "Just a stupid envelope placed into my locker, I haven't opened it and he wants me to open it infront of him, incase it's about him."

"Open it up." Tom calmly said.

She sighed, but did so, revealing a piece of paper, she unfolded it and gasped.

She slowly turned the paper around to reveal a message written in blood.

"Stay away from Matt. He's no good, he'll kill you in the end."

Tom observed it and frowned. "Dakota. Do not mention this to him, under any circumstances."

"Wh-"

"Just don't. I will need to speak with you on Wednesday, meet me at the local library at 11AM, don't say a word to Matt. He'll become very angry and he may just do something stupid." He butted in quickly.

Dakota gulped and nodded, she didn't know what was going on.

"Also, I'm aware that Matt knows that you told me about your kiss in the woods.."

"You told him?!" She yelled.

"No, well, yes, but not directly. I had to tell the police everything about Matt, and if he was seeing anyone, I had to tell them about your kiss, and apparently during his questioning, Matt was informed about the kiss." He calmly replied. "If he hasn't mentioned it to you, then I'm sure it's not that big of a deal."

"How could you? You said you wouldn't tell anyone."

"I said unless it's if someone is in danger! I told them." Tom replied, raising his voice a little.

Dakota grabbed her bag and left the room, but before she left the room she turned and looked at Tom.

"And I know you're wondering who's in danger. And that would be you." He said.

Then, she left, running home as quickly as possible.
