Now drenched, the girl carried on down Avenue road, wishing more than ever she could turn back... but she could never turn back. As if to prove her right, the sound of hobnailed boots suddenly mingled with the rain. The girl, her own tears now splashing down onto the pavement and mixing with the rain, ran on, knowing she couldn't stop, not for a minute... From my vantage point, I could see everything. She ran on for a little longer, until CRACK! A boot swung out of nowhere and connected with her skull. As she spun round and collapsed, I gasped. That girl... was ME! But that was impossible. I screamed, crying piercingly for help. I could just see a mass of people enveloping the other me. I heard other me scream, heard a thump. And then...I woke up.
