*Josh's POV*
My back made a cracking sound as I picked up my guitar from the ground, crouching slightly as I did. I cursed quietly to myself, well, mostly at my back because it hurt like an ass after it has been fucked. I would know, as I'm as gay as a rainbowmarshmallow with glitter and diamonds on it.
People looked at me, some with disgust in their eyes, other with a look of compassion. They shouldn't feel compassion for me. It's my life, and it was my parents that threw me out on the streets.
*Flashback*
Here it goes. Nothing to lose. Tonight is the night I'm going to come out to my parents and sister. My sister is very supportive of the LGBTQ+ community, but I'm not quite sure about my parents.
Later that night I had called to a "family meeting". We always had that when someone had something important to say, or if something is happening, which doesn't happen very often if I say so.
Me, my sister and my parents sat around the wooden table in the kitchen, the street lights outside shining in through the kitchen window, giving the whole room a more orange light.
"What was it that you wanted to tell us? Hurry up, we don't have the whole evening" my dad spat. Off to a 'great' start.
"Well, I hope that you're supportive of the LGBTQ+ community" I said, my voice a bit shaky but I managed to keep it somewhat steady.
"Just sing it out boy" my mum muttered, clearly not happy.
"Well, I hope that you are, beacuse I'm gay." There. It's out. My parents now know I'm gay.
My sister smiled slightly at me, squeezing my hand under the table for some extra strength. My parents didn't look quite that happy or proud though.
"This is some joke right? No son of mine is gay!" My dad screeched at me.
"I'm 'afraid' it's not, dad" I snorted at him, irony dripping from the sentence.
My dad then slammed his hand down onto the table, making both my sister and I jump.
"You have until tomorrow to pack your bags and leave" my mum then went on.
It felt like being stabbed in the heart, all the air in my lungs vanished right after that sentence.
"Or else...?" I managed to say, my voice still as steady as before.
"Or else nothing" dad hissed. "You don't have a choice"
I nodded, knowing now that if I opened my mouth, I would just start sobbing.
My sister bit her lip, a tear threatening to fall down her cheek and ruin her perfect mascara.
"Go!" my mum said. I stood up, and ran up to my room.
I closed the door, got my bag out of my closet and started throwing all of my clothes in it. Light footsteps walked by my door, opened and closed the door to my sister's room. I went over to the window, opened it and looked to my right, just to see my sister poking her head outside the window.
"I'm sorry" she said.
"Don't be."
"You know where to find me, right?" I nodded. My sister would often hang out at this place close to that record store I loved. Usually, she would be there with her friends Brendon, Lyn-z, Gerard, Frank and Jamia.
"Take care, please." She whispered, loud enough for me to hear her.
"I promise."
