Episode 2: A Single Spark

Opening: Magnet By Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka

"Please we didn't do anything wrong!" The girl with bright green hair made into two pigtails whinnied as a bang was made and she fell to the ground and blood pooled onto the floor and some also had splattered onto the room and onto Kaori's face. Kaori stood there shaking not knowing what to do. She raised her hand up and touched her face and looked at the blood.

" Wake up!" A teacher yelled and Kaori looked up at the female teacher who was glaring at her. The teacher signed and walked to the front of the classroom upset she was stuck with the ones with detention. Kaori looked around getting a stare from Hanna who smirked at Kaori making her blood boil. Rin who sat at the back of the classroom next to Garret and an empty seat where Aoi should've been also stared at Kaori wondering what she was dreaming about.

A loud bang echoed from the other side of the school and all students looked to the door. "Has someone broke in?" Mayumi a friend of Hanna's panicked. Mayumi had short brown hair tied up into two buns, chocolate brown eyes and fair skin.

"Students please stay seated I will go and have a look" The Teacher said picking up the keys and locking the door on her way out so no one would leave. The room was surrounded by chatter and loud screeches of chairs turning.

"Where's Aoi?" Rin asked Garret.

"He probably went home, Little runt should be here with the rest of us..." Garret groaned angrily.

"Your Kaori right!?" Kazumi chirped turning her chair around to see her.

"Um......" Kaori began a little taken back by the sudden conversation.

"Well is it or isn't it?" Kazumi asked again.

"Yes My name is Kaori, Whats yours?" Kaori asked.

"KAZUMI!!!!!!!" The girl screeched loudly.

"Stop shouting..." West groaned at Kazumi. Dio turned to face the group of three and smiled lightly.

"Oh yeah? And what are you going to do to stop me?" Kazumi said standing in front of his desk her arms crossed.

"Your so cute!" West cooed making a strange expression.

"Don't call me cute! I will strap Dynamite to you and send you up into the sky like a firework and you will explode and your body parts will go everywhere" Kazumi ranted.

"Let me hug you!!!!" West cooed again reaching out to her and Kazumi groaned.

"Pathetic...." Hanna hissed walking over Mayumi next to her.

"Your Pathetic!" Kazumi hissed.

"No need to be harsh Hanna..." Dio advised Hanna.

"Uh.....Shut Up! Mr Nice Guy!" Hanna groaned.

Rin and Garret laughed. "Somebody likes Dio!" Garret cooed.

"I do not the guy is just to nice, He probably has some hidden agenda or something" Hanna said. While the arguments were happening Kaori began to smell smoke and heard a crackling noise. She looked towards the door where small amounts of smoke began to appear. Kaori then stood up staring at the smoke.

Rin noticed her stand and glanced at the door and jumped up "Guys! Smoke!" Rin panicked. Everyone laughed and looked and then turned into panicked expressions.

"We gotta get out of here!" Mayumi panicked beginning to hyperventilate.

"Come on!" West groaned running towards the door. "Rin Give me hand!" West shouted. Rin ran over and both boys ran into the door making it collapse onto the floor in the hallway. Roaring flames surrounded them and people in the classroom ran out a few going left and a few going right. Others stood in the middle unsure. To the right was Hanna, Mayumi, West, Dio and a few other students. The other side had Rin, Garret, Kazumi and a few other students. Stood in the middle was Kaori unsure where she should go. The ceiling above the center group creaked and some of the paint flaked to the floor.

Rin knew exactly what was going to happen it was going to fall. " Move out the way!" Rin yelled but the group looked in confusion not knowing what he was saying over the flames. A loud snapping noise was heard and Rin ran to the group and hauled Kaori out of the group and into safety just as he did a supporting beam fell from the roof and killed some of the students blood poured onto the tiles and some bone and brain matter was on the floor. Kaori looked up at Rin thankful for her life.

"T-T-Thank you!" She stuttered.

"We better be going" Rin told her and the left and right groups ran separately. Flames seemed to eat away the path as they left it several students were not fast enough and fell with the path. The Right group came to the stairwell the students rushed down Mayumi then tripped and fell down her body bashing on the stairs several times.

"Mayumi!" Hanna screamed as her friends body reached the bottom of the stairs. She ran to her and saw her no longer breathing. She shook her friend "Mayumi!" She screamed.

"Hanna..." Dio said putting his hands on her shoulders.

"She's just knocked out right!? She'll wake up!" Hanna whinnied tears flowing down her face. West looked nervously at the ever spreading fire.

"Guys we better be going! I'm sorry but You don't want to be caught in those flames either right!?" West shouted.

"Mayumi!!" Hanna screamed.

"Was that Hanna?" Kazumi asked Rin, Garret and Kaori as they were running.

"I hope she's alright...." Kaori muttered to herself. As they came to the entrance they saw the other group up ahead. The only one's that were left were Dio, West, Hanna and Mayumi who was dead but Dio carried the dead body to make sure it didn't burn like the others.

"Thank god your alright!" Garret said.

"The exit is just there!" Kazumi said pointing at the large oak doors at the other side of the room. The group ran towards the exit but were distracted by the loud crash of the stairway falling. Everyone stopped and looked at the horror of Garret trapped with his leg underneath a golden handrail. He wouldn't be getting out of it they all knew that. Flames then began to surround him and he yelled for help.

Rin stepped forward but someone grabbed his arm. "Its too late...." Hanna told him. Rin looked at his friend crying for help. Even though he wanted to he knew it would just be suicide trying to help. Rin turned away and joined the others making their way out.

"RIN!" Garret screamed. Rin felt a tear escape his eye and fall down his cheek but he continued running until he was outside with the others. They all turned and saw the school burn and collapse in front of them.

Dio laid Mayumi down and sat next to her. Hanna also crouched by her friend and began to cry. She cradled her dead friend's body remembering the memories they had shared together. Kaori also began to cry as memory's flooded back from the dreadful night she hated to remember. Kaori fell to the ground crying and Kazumi comforted her. Rin stared at the school knowing that the blood of Garret's death was on his hands. No, on all of their hands.
