It was another special day in Galloway, New Jersey. But, Connor woke at 7:25 AM, tired and restless. He tried to go back to sleep, but just couldn't quite understand why he didn't fall back asleep. Something troubled him. He put his head back on his pillow and thought about it for a second. Was it his Independent Fairfield project he was working on? No, he finalized that work long before break. Was it the argument him and his sister Cate had along the ride down to Galloway? Now wait a minute, Connor didn't fight with his sister, they rarely did anymore. Connor retired on these thoughts, and fell back into a deep slumber after much thinking.
Connor awoke two hours later with a warm hand from his mother. His mother looked down at him and smiled. Connor shows sympathy and smiled back. He immediately knew that his mother was greeting him on his second day of vacation. He loved to see his mother every morning. It put a feeling of warmth inside him, and it calmed him down whenever he was stressed. Connor stretched, and walked into the kitchen area, and aimed for the refrigerator. He opened the fridge and spotted the thirty-two waters the trio had bought and reached for the refreshing beverage. His mom said, "Toss me one, please, Connor?" Connor reached for another water and threw it at an arc to his mom. Connor was a bit dumbfounded when he saw his mom catch the water. Connor looked down at the floor, water in hand. He felt pretty dizzy. He has started to feel sick these last few days, and he started to grumble. His mom noticed his attitude, and questioned, "Something wrong, boons?" Connor half-smiled at his mom. His family always called him "boons" or "boonies."
Another family, called the Assads, called him "boonies" as well. The McCabes and Assads never have seen a fight develop when they are together. The Assad family consisted of Mrs. Assad. Connor and Cate both called her Sue, because that is her actual name, and they've been used to that for a long time. Sue Assad was met by Lory in high school. They both quickly developed a quick spark, and family came together. Later on, Sue and Mom went their ways for a short while to get on to their engagements. Lory Kain married Daniel McCabe, or Dan, and Sue Assad married Roger. Connor never knew who's last name was changed, but he planned to ask when the time was valid. Then came the children of Nick (20), Thomas (18), Alex (15), and Michael (12). The McCabes never let the Assads away from their thoughts. They were family, like having a second family. Connor always enjoyed spending every minute with the Assads, and so did the rest of the McCabes.
"I think I may be getting a cold, but I think I'll hold off 'till the end of vacation," Connor said respectfully. "I don't want to waste any time with the time we got." Connor didn't want to feel like a burden to interrupt the time of family they had right now. "You want me to run down to the drug store and pick up some Advil for you?" Lory replied. "No Mom, please, I don't want you doing dirty work just for me. You said yesterday this is vacation. Let's take advantage of the time we got." Connor said with a begging tone. "Okay, just let me know, boons. I'm here, you know." Lory said with a smile. Connor appreciated that, but he didn't want his mom to work over vacation. It would feel like a sin to have his mom work on vacation. "Let's watch TV, no?" responded Connor. Lory replied, "Is House Hunters on? I'm feeling up for that today." For a half-hour, Connor and his mom watched TV, until Cate woke up from her deep slumber.
