‘Out to the shops and straight back home’ Mia thought. She took her time there. Then got home with bags of food and clothing.

‘Lets see if dad or Nate are home’ Mia thought while pulling out her phone.

“What is this? Not answer Mias calls week!” She shrieked annoyed.

She was fuming with rage that no one was picking up her phone calls. Every time she got angry all she had to do was blow off steam.  But how? She didn’t like the wall cutting the lounge room and the kitchen apart, she wanted it to be open. Plus this would help her to blow off steam

“Down with the wall” She sang.

She grabbed the sledgehammer and began to destroy the wall with all her might. Suddenly when she pulled it back to hit the wall again she saw something strange. ‘What’s that?’ she pondered. It was……a thumb? ‘What the hell!’ So far she’d only knocked down half of the giant wall but this was curious.

Mia decided to pull it down quickly  like a band aid, as she did so she didn’t want to open her eyes but when she did she wished she hadn’t. She screamed with horror as loud as she could.

This type of stuff only happened in movies but never in reality! What was in front of her right now made her heart break into tiny little pieces. Her legs turned to jelly and gave way as she fell to the ground, tears falling down her cheeks. Stuffed in the wall was a body. She was certain that it wasn’t old or in there before they moved in. She knew this because the person in the wall was oh so very clearly Tabitha. She was breaking down. ‘Who would do this?’ ‘Why would anyone want to hurt her?’ Tabitha was a very lovable, caring person to be around.

She didn’t know what to do. Should she tell Tabitha’s parents, call the police or what about Drake.

“Drake!’ she croaked.

Only realizing now that he was not home, she glanced at the clock; it was only five, he didn’t get home until seven. Normal people would have called the police or even their hubby but not Mia. So the only thing that came to her mind was, ‘Enough time to put the plaster back up’. She couldn’t tell him, she didn’t know why, but she just couldn’t. So by the time Drake got home it was all taken care of everything, plasterboard back up on the wall. Thank god it didn’t have much damage on it.

It was really awkward now but Drake shrugged it off and they went to bed.

……

For once Mia was up early, even earlier then Drake; he didn’t have to go to work today. She couldn’t sleep even though she tried. Mia thought maybe Lacey would pick up, her own sister better not leave her hanging. Within three rings she picked up.

“Hello,” Lacey hissed to the caller obviously still half asleep.

“Hey Lacey, It’s me,” Mia whispered trying not to wake up Drake “Can you come over today I really need to talk to you!”

“Echh, why?!” She exclaimed.

“I bought a new house, it’s at 17 Isobel St.” Mia stammered .

“A NEW HOUSE!!” Lacey screamed.

“Yea, I’ll get rid of Drake so you can come over but you still have to deal with it,” she told her.

“Uhhhhh, fine,” Lacey whaled “but it better be important” and with that she hung up.
