I was amazed at what just happened. I wanted to text Bri to tell her all the secrets I wasn't allowed to tell her. Because after all, best friends aren't supposed to keep secrets from each other. Bri tells me everything and up until a few weeks ago I haven't been honest with her because I am forbidden. My whole family has always been very cautious around people. Even around friends I had play dates with only I wasn't allowed to physically allowed to have them at my house. I wasn't even allowed to sleepover anyone's house but ours. My parents always told me very amazing stories about girl warriors who saved the world because they have amazing abilities. I always thought they seemed very real and I never would have thought they were true. My mother and father had always said to me "One day our child, You will be just as amazing. Don't ever forget that." They had told me that everyday after they told a bedtime story. But I had never really thought about the meanings of the story or what they said. It was probably just because I was very little and I only thought about unicorns, puppies, Barbie dolls and glitter.

"Hey M!" That's what Bri calls me. She was calling from down the hall and heading towards my locker. "Hi B. What's up?" You probably have figured out I call her B. "I have some exiting news! I got a pic of my latest "runway" assignment on the school website!" She showed me the pic of it. It was a one shoulder strap, knee length, dark blue with sparkles. "It's beautiful! And I figured you would have got this weeks design on the schools website you always do!" Its true every week she is 1 of 3 people to have her design make it to the schools website. *If you are wondering what my parents think of her.. Well, Lets just say she is special in a good way.* "Hey, I have to get home. My parents are waiting on me." I was already closing my locker until B said, "Ok, Wait! I forgot to ask you something." She had caught up to me. "Please hurry. You know how my parents hate when I'm late." "Ok so you know about the end of the year party Racheal Johnson throws every year? Well I was wondering if we could go?" Water? People I don't know? Parents permission? "I will talk to my parents about it OK? Text me later!" I had almost bolted out of school because I knew what was going to happen if I had permission to go; It would not be pretty and I would get SO embarrassed.
Later that night at dinner which we had my mothers family famous dish called Rainbow Fiesta. It is called this because this because it mostly consists of veggies. "Mother, father. Bri has invited me to a end of the year party. A girl from school is throwing it. Do I have permission to go?" They looked at each other very shocked because I had never asked to go hang out with Bri and other people around my age before. After a long silence my father replied ,"We will discuss this during breakfast OK?" And the rest of dinner was quiet. When I was finished I asked to be excused and went to my room. After about an hour my mother knocked on the door. She peered her head in. "May I come in?" "Of course mother." "Honey, me and your father have been thinking about letting you go to that "party", our answer is...."
