Elizabeth woke up in a strange room on the floor with no recollection of how she got there. The last thing she remembered was hiding from her father. This room she is in looks to be just a four by four nothing interesting except the glass panel that was in front of her, she smelled the air for anything all she got was a hint of lavender it was very faint a little too faint for her liking. She should of have felt worried but for some reason she felt calm it was probably the lavender in the air that made her feel that way, she knew right away that she had been drugged. She continued to examine her surroundings as she looked she noticed a glass panel as she went to touch it lit up and two screens came on. One that led to a room with different people sitting there and the second one for some reason had her name age and picture on there as if to show her who she is. As soon as the screen came on there was a mist that appeared at the bottom of her feet and she wonder for a second if that mist was what is causing her to feel so calm. But before she could dwell on that any longer the other screen caught her attention, someone had come inside the room a woman she looked to have been important because everyone stopped what they were doing and saluted her. This new woman sat down on a desk that was directly in front of my view. As soon as she sat down the sound came on and everyone stopped talking. It was a few minutes before anyone spoke anything. I stood still waiting for anyone of anything to be done so I could know what was happening, but nothing was being said or done. It could of have been ten minutes or maybe thirty before anyone decided to speak and the only one that did was that woman. She introduced herself as Detective Candice.
"Hello my name is Detective Candice and I have a few questions for you Elizabeth. If you comply with us we will make sure your stay with us will be as... comfortable as possible. "
That pause it made a chill run down my back and as soon that happen the second screen with my information on their changed and showed how my vital signs changed. They were tracking everything I would be feeling here, they want the truth. Detective Candice then took me out of my train of thought when she scrapped her chair back and stood up to and walked closer to the screen. She kept eye contact on me the whole time she walked up and it didn't waiver not once. There was another heavy pause, this one felt worse than the other one; she was scrutinizing me trying to see a flaw or something else. But she wasn't the first person I have encountered that is of high rank good or bad they were no good for me and I learned that many years ago. At the end I broke the eye contact I never could look at someone for far too long she took that as a victory you could see it in the way her eyes blazed a little. She turned around and walked back to her seat.
"You are something special Elizabeth... we have been looking for you for quite some time now. You have certainly been on the move within this year you have lived in 7 states. Two of which you had previously lived at before..." She let that last sentence linger in the air. I was to expect that part, it doesn't matter who it is that catches me they always make it a point to let me know I am being watched. The good thing is that my mother warned me about that part, I am always being watched. The reason why is still a mystery to me. Maybe I should give an answer to her comment. I turned my head to the side and gave her a smile, only a smile that is all she would get, her knowing my voice and hearing it would make it easier for them to find me and I was not going to put that on my plate as well.
Detective Candice unfortunately didn't take liking to my smile; her eye became more hard and pursed her lips.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way Elizabeth; I am not here to play games. I want answers!"
Answers. That's what we all want in life unfortunately for some they actually don't ever get the answers they want and this detective was going to be one of the many. I decide then to let her voice drown out; her questions were irrelevant to me this early in the introductions. I looked behind her and saw she had two guards with her one which looked fairly young in the field and the second one much older he also had the same look as the detective. Those eyes that want to eat you alive. He wasn't one I wouldn't mind keep a staring contest with, and I did just that. After a few seconds he had caught on me staring at him and only him, that's when his eyes got harder and didn't stray from mines. We were only two seconds in the game when his eyes glazed over and I was now able to look through his eyes. I saw myself through the glass panel, I his head to the right and saw another glass room; I wasn't able to see through that one but I knew there had to be around 4 men or woman in there looking over my vitals. Then I turned to the right and saw the young detective there standing, up close he looked much younger than I thought maybe early thirties. He turned around to look straight into my eyes and I noticed how his jaw locked and his hand slowly moved to his belt where his gun would be. But before he could move any further than that I looked into his eyes and moved myself to him. For some reason I had a gut feeling that I could trust this man a little more than the others so I let him have part of his mind. Before I could get far with anything Detective Candice banged the desk, it was enough to make me jump and look up at her and she was seething.
"Stop that! Don't look at anyone in my room but me!" She turned around and faced her partners and examined the older man first then moved her eyes to the younger one. She stared at him longer than the other one before it seemed like she deemed them both okay. "Who was it that you got? Was it the one to your right or left.... Or maybe it's both?" She smiled up at Elizabeth but it wasn't a good smile it was cynical. "I have plans for you Elizabeth and by your actions so far these plans are for my enjoyment" she let that sentence end right there.
I start to drown her out again I need to think of a way to escape out of here. This woman means more harm than anything else and you can see it in her eyes that she would enjoy torturing me. So I close my eyes and picture the younger detective's eyes, as if he is looking straight at me. It only took me a few seconds before I could see through his eyes again. This time I also gave him some of his control. With his vision I looked at Detective Candice's file of me and tried to read what type of information they were trying to get from me.
