Devour

Chapter 1: Meet the beginning.

Authors gonna, tell you guys something!

So, we're both super excited about this.. We have planned this, like, since last year.. (the whole summer) and, like we've already said, feel free to tell us about, any miss spellings and any kind of mistakes... and remember, this is our first book and we're not writing this in our own home language, so don't be rude! Please don't steal!

P R O L O G U E

They told me to meet them up at the tunnels. I didn't know why, but sure thing, it's not anything good, 'cause when someone so prestigious as he is, wants to talk, they don't wanna talk about weather.
They are like the Santa and Santa's little helpers, or no they're nothing like Santa and his helpers, they are cruel and vicious little wolves, who have done nothing but a misery to everyone else, I mean, who would want to hurt themselves?
I feel the bitter smell in my nose, and I know that I'm close to them, or at least one kilometer away from the place where they are.
I had wandered all around the tunnels and now I only have to follow the hideous smell right away to them.
I saw light end of the tunnel and walked in there, the place was like a big cave and got lightened by candles, in the little holes inside the wall. Middle of the 'room' was a table and around the table were three men.
I recognized the man in the middle, he was the most prestigious one of the three, being honest he was the one who rules the whole place, Daniel, that was the name of this vicious man.
In his right side, was the man who Daniel trust the most, so literally the man was Daniel's right shoulder, who would be killed right away, if he would tell even one word about Daniel's secrets. I think the right shoulders name is Eric, but I'm not sure, I mean he could be Jack as well.
The man in Daniel's left side, well being honest I haven't ever even heard about him, I think he came when I left Daniel's world for good. I looked at Daniel again, but made sure that I didn't even take a little look at his eyes, that would mean catastrophe. Daniel was at least 188 centimetres tall, with black hairs and bristle in his chin, his face was really shape and even, if he looked like thirty years old I knew that he was nearly forty-eight years old. Looking younger than really is, is only one little thing to thank about our terrific species.
Then I took another glimpse at Eric, he was in the pattern even when I wasn't so I wouldn't be surprised, if he would be even older than Daniel, then was the third man, he looked little bit like Daniel himself and looked like age of my own daughters.
Boy is young, that I can say for sure, but he looks really arrogant. He didn't even bother to look at me, since I have arrived and his posture was bad when he was sitting like that, but his position in the Daniel's monarchy is really promising, 'cause he is sitting in here, with him.

I knew I should open my mouth and say something, but just when I was about to do it, I just couldn't, words didn't come up out of my throat and my mouth was dry.

I cough once and then said "You wanted to talk to me?"

I think that the disgust inside of me showed up in my face when I talked to them, but who could blame me, when I know all the terrible things they have done in the past.
Daniel looked me head to toe, before he turned his head to the right side. He nodded a little to the Eric and then turned his face back to me.

"Yes Thomas, we have your two little daughters to talk about" he finally answered.
I think I looked little surprised, I mean I really didn't expect that coming out.

I looked at them my mouth open, but then I understood, that I must've looked really stupid. So I shut my mouth and thought what I should say.

*cough*
"Yeah, well, what about them?"
I finally got able to said.

"What do you think he have to say about them, you moron?" the arrogant boy said.

I was shocked that someone, who is that young have right to say something like that, have right to say anything, anything at all, at the table where sit the leader of Devour.

Daniel hit him in the back of the head.
"What was that for?" the boy said, pain in his voice.

"Think about it", Daniel just answered back and looked at Eric. He nodded to Daniel and started to talk.

"Let's get all this crappy formal thing over with and just go to the point, shall we", Eric said. He sounded like bored business man who's someone's disappointed dad.

"Yeah, well I think you know exactly what we want", Daniel says threatening.

"Well i'm sorry Daniel, I think I don't" I said, starting to get annoyed by his guessing game.

"They are getting stronger, aren't they and if they haven't, it's only a matter of time when they do, it's an unavoidable risk to the pack", Daniel continues.

"Do you really think, that two underage girls could do that much damage to your pack?" I say amused.

"Why wouldn't I, isn't that what happened the last time?" Daniel answered in serious tone.

"How they even could, when they don't know anything about this?" I said frustrated, I knew exactly what happened last time and I didn't need reminder from him, especially not from him.

"But you can't promise to us that, it's going to be secret for them forever, they will notice that there is something they can't explain, at some point", Daniel says clear anger in his voice and stands up, taking few steps forward and continues.
"Can't you see, I don't wanna hurt them, that I don't wanna do any harm to you, i'm just here to suggest you, that we could do some co-operation".

"And what do you mean by that?" I ask suspecting.

"I'm suggesting that we could take girls to the Devour and train them, so they could be under our control", Daniel says sternly.
As soon as Daniel suggested that, I see that arrogant young man smirking by the corner of my eye, which makes my blood boil in my veins.

"Let me think about it" I said even though I knew the answer already.

I turn around and start to walk to the exit, but before I leave, I turn around and give them my only answer.

"For your information, I don't belong to your pack anymore, haven't since that little 'accident' which you made, so you can't control me nor my daughters, they are my 'problem' not yours, so my answer is no".
After that I turned and take few steps ahead before I stop and say
"By the way, I can control them, they're my daughters after all"
and then I start to walk again.

After few seconds I feel sting in my shoulder and start to feel dizzy.
I move my hand over my shoulder to check on it and feel something that reminds a tiny spike. I pull it out of my shoulder and as soon as my vision becomes blurry, I know exactly what hit me.

"Wolfs-bane", I mutter under my breath.

My knees fail me and before I hit the ground, someone grabs me and Daniel appears in front of me.

"When I want to talk about something, then we're going to talk".
Was the last thing I heard, before everything went blank.
