I couldn't believe this would be our new life, left with nothing to call our own ,not a single penny to our name just decades worth of debts to pay.I could see the tears forming in his pearl blue eyes,

"Everything is going to be okay, trust me"

I knew I wasn't able to convince him or myself, I couldn't guarantee him anything at this point, not even his own safety! He is my only reason to live and I will not fail him.
What can i say, we have nothing.The bank took away our home and they didn't even allow us to take our belongings and I had my father to thank for all this.

We only took what we had with us and trust me it's not much.
I held his hand as we trailed towards the church in the dark,he kept tugging on my ripped jeans to capture my attention,

"Breé, can we sleep on a parkbench tonight?"

I shook my head, "Not tonight, don't you remember what happened to us the last time we did that!How about we go visit Pastor Ben. Would you like that?".

He gave me a small smile and I smiled back at him, I wouldn't forgive myself if anything happened to him!"
It began to drizzle, the moon highlighting the different shadows in the dark,the wind howling,causing him to cling onto me out of fear.I touched his freezing body, i took my backpack off in order to retrieve a jearsey for him and as i did so he let go of me to run around in the rain. And that's when i heard the thunder clap, something crash and him screaming my name.
