Chaper One

Today my life changed forever. My name is Ivy Harris and today is my 21st birthday. One that I will certainly never forget. Let me start from the beginning so you under stand the journey I had to go through to get the most amazing thing that ever happened to me.
   It all started on March 2, the day I finally turned 21 yrs old. I woke up to my father and my brother Steven arguing. They were never to close, he was a mama's boy and I was daddy's girl. It hit him the hardest when mom was killed in a car crash when I was 14 and he was 12. Steven and my father drifted apart, me and Steven stayed the same, not just brother and sister , but best friends. We always got each other's backs.
The argument was Steven "crashed" the car. When I say crashed I mean put a dent in the passenger side door the size of you thumb nail. Dad always over reacts to everything, but I still love him to the moon and back.
"How in the hell did you crash my car" dad shouted with rage. " For the the last, time a drunk guy at the bar came out to his car, which was parked right to me, opened the door and hit the car" Steven said in annoyance. " You are without a doubt paying for the damage" my father chimed in. Before Steven got a chance express his opinion on the matter I chimed in " How much would be to fix the car"? They didn't realize I was there till I said something.
"Happy Birthday Baby" my father said like the last 10 minutes never happened . "Yah Happy 21st V" Steven said. V is his nick name for me. When we were little he couldn't say Ivy the only thing he said was V and it just stuck. "So how much will the damage cost" I muttered in confusion. " Oh don't worry about that it's just a tiny deny. No harm done" my father muttered. " I'm confused, were you two arguing over the car" I said with confusion. "How old are you turning today baby".  "21" I said in confusion.
      "Your old enough to drink now baby girl" my dad said with excitement. "You want a beer"? "It's 9 am dad"! " Oh what ever". "Honey we need to talk" my dad said with worry. " Sure just let me go take a shower and get dressed" I said.  "Ok" he said. "But as soon as you come down stairs we need to talk, ok". He said with strictness.
