This is crazy... And it all seemed to start off so nicely... Now I don't even know what to think anymore!

Winter break with my friends was awesome! Parting with Pinkie Pie, winning arm wrestles against Applejack, playing guitar with Sunset Shimmer, and even reading with Twilight! The food at the Christmas party wasn't half bad either, and the gifts we received were really nice. But I just don't understand what happened after Christmas... A few days later on New Year's Eve...

It was simple. Pretty much everyone was busy. Rarity had a killer amount of dresses to make for her new line, Riveting Resolution, and was busy on New Years. AJ was going to Manhattan to visit her aunt and uncle and Pinkie was going to a baking convention with Sunset and Twilight. Pretty much all my friends were completely packed with stuff to do and I was this loser with nothing on my agenda. Well, that was untill Fluttershy invited me to the beach.

It would be a 4 hour flight, and she said we were going to take a bus to the airport, take our flight and spend a week there. Of Course I accepted going with her but I offered to drive with my car instead. I owned a vivid royal blue car that spoke nothing of Fluttershy's personality. While it was a bold and sexy car, she was a timid and mild human being. Even though that doesn't really matter, I thought pointing that out would be interesting.

Once I was able to persuade my parents to let me go to the beach, I decided to text Fluttershy.

Me: parents said I could join you, can't wait! :)

Fluttershy: Woohoo..! Oh, and maybe we shouldn't take your car. We don't want to leave it at the airport for a week.

Me: good point, don't wanna risk anything. we'll take the bus.

Fluttershy: Yay. Thanks for the offer anyway :)

Me: np

Fluttershy: Okay then. Meet you at the bus station tomorrow at 4am!

Fluttershy is a really kind person, the nicest I've ever met, and I'm really happy she chose me to go with her (even thought everyone else was busy). I'm always her first pick for everything so sometimes I feel bad to let her down when I'd rather hang with another friend.

I placed my phone in the pocket of my vest and walked towards my car. I was planning to go buy a few books for the ride there. Even though the weather was nearly below 0 and the roads hadn't completely thawed out yet, I was still eager to face the challenge and drive to the book store.

"Rainbow Dash! Boy has it been a while!"

Was this just going on in my head or was this reality? That familiar tone and slight rasp... No way!

"Soarin!" I sprinted over, trying to avoid slipping on the winter ice, and tackled him with a hug. Soarin had been gone with the Wonderbolts motocross team for a huge tournament and hasn't been back in a month. Soarin and I met at a motocross event where he later taught me what I know today. Turns out he was only about a year older than me!

Usually motocross doesn't go on this time of year but this was a special event in another country that you wouldn't wanna miss. Sadly, I couldn't tag along because of school...

"What took you so long?!" I laughed as he recovered from my intense hug. "Well there were multiple tournaments that were held in the UK. We've been competing and training so much this past month."

I took a quick glimpse around his neck only to see a few metals. "So what did you rank?" I tugged at his collar which made him smile. "A silver and two golds. Plus we got a huge championship trophy!" He pulled out the metals which clanked and dangled from his neck. He smelled like motor oil and dirt, as if he just raced. But that didn't stop me from hugging him more.

BEEP BEEP

A large bus pulled onto my road. It was obviously the Wonderbolts traveling bus. The door swung open and Spitfire, the team captain, leaned out.

"Soarin! There you are! When you said you would jog down a few blocks, I didn't know you'd mean an entire neighborhood. It's freezing out here!" She laughed leaning against the bus.

"Heh heh, sorry Spitfire, I just had to run down to Dashes place." Soarin scratched his head and awkwardly smiled, blushing with embarrassment.

"Oh hey Rainbow Dash! Long time no see?" She waved as she slowly walked over. "Yah, I see the tournaments went well!" I shouted, trying my best to not sound stupid. "Sure did! We just finished our afternoon practice at the indoor course around here and are heading back to the hq for a break. Say, have you been riding lately?" Spitfire asked as she stood next to me.

I haven't practiced since last weekend, but I supposed I could answer. "Yeah, been with my dad and buddy Gilda at the indoor course. Working on some new moves!" I answered with a smile. Spitfire nodded, "Good to hear your working hard like a true Wonderbolt does."

"Yo Soarin! We could have just drove you here, now you'll stink up the bus even more with your BO!" I heard the familiar voice of Fleetfoot, another Wonderbolt, shout from the bus. Soarin cringed at Fleetfoot's comment.

I knew Soarin didn't want the Wonderbolts following him here. I guess he didn't want to be bugged by them for once. My dream is to one day join them! Ever since I met them I've been obsessing over doing what I can to impress them.

"Alright Rainbow Dash! We gotta head back to hq now so take care and happy New Year!" Spitfire patted me on the shoulder and began to walk to the bus, signaling Soarin to follow. Soarin stood there silent for a moment, waiting for Spitfire to get back into the bus. Once she did he turned to me.

"I'm sorry, this'll be the last time I'll see you for a few more weeks or so. We've been scheduled to compete in another state one more time untill our  official break." He frowned looking down at me. He was a few inches taller then me, but not so much that it was obvious. I felt a bit upset about this news. Soarin and I are really close and wanted to spend more time together, but all of these competitions are delaying us.

"Soarin, it's okay. I'll miss you but it isn't for that much longer." I smiled at him which always brightened up his spirit. He took both of my hands which shocked me for a moment. I wanted to punch him so fricken bad, but I trusted him.

"Well, since we also won't be celebrating New Years together because of our out of state tournament, I wanted to do one tradition." His calm smile turned me on. What the hell was going on? My urge to punch him got larger. Tradition?!? What tradition?!?

"What tradition?" I said a lot calmer than I thought I was going to. He leaned in and gave me a glorious kiss. Suddenly I became warm and the temperature outside didn't effect me!

"The kissing tradition." He said after we broke apart. "Oh..." I said stupidly. We both started giggling. We stood their laughing really hard until Fleetfoot screamed, "GET ON THE BUS SOARIN YOU NOOB!!!" startled, he quickly hugged me and ran to the bus waving back.

"See yah Soarin!" I shouted as he ran. "Happy New Year!" He called back. Soarin entered the bus and went off with the rest of the Wonderbolts.

I breathed in deeply and out slowly. Wow, I never new kissing would be so nice... "Are we a thing now? Well I guess it doesn't matter..." I thought. "Better go get those books..."
