Bad Habit

Chapter 1

"Ella, wake up. You're going to be late for your first day of school." My mother calls out for the 7th time.

"I'm awake. I've been awake for the past 6 times you've told me to wake up." I yell out to my mother. I look at the time.. it's currently 5:44 and it's time for me to get ready for my first day of my junior year.. Fun. I walk into my bathroom to shower and get ready. Not even 10 minutes into my shower my brother is already banging on the door telling me to hurry up.

"El, hurry up you've been in here forever." He whines.

"Nick go away. I've barely been in here for ten minutes. You have your own bathroom go use it." I tell him as I put shampoo in my hair.

"The water pressure in your shower is better than mine." He continues whining.

"Go away Nick." I rudely say as I wash the shampoo out of my hair. Within a few minutes of begging, he finally leaves. After my shower is finished I get my 'First Day of School' outfit out which is a grey crop top sweater, faded black jeans, a pair of combat boots. After finishing getting dressed I do my hair. Nothing really special I just curl it then do my make up. I heck my phone and its 6:50 thank God my school doesn't start till 8:10. I head down stairs to get a bagel with some cream cheese.

"Hello, my beautiful." My mother says as she places her hand on my back and place a small kiss on the back of my head.

"Hey mamma." I smile and take a bite of my bagel. My brother walks into the kitchen and takes an apple.

"Do you want a ride today?" My mother asks.

"Yeah, please... you know if I had my own car you wouldn't have to give me a ride." I raise my eyebrows in a playful manner. My mother smile's and makes a cup of coffee.

"Ooh can you make me a cup?" I smile and pull out a mug and hand it to her.

"Thank you mamma." I smile and she hands me my mug full of coffee. I check the time to see that it's 7:36

"We should get going?" I suggest. My mother nods and grabs her purse. I follow her out to the garage.

My eye widen, "Is that what I think it is." My eyes focus on the second car that wasn't ever there before. My mother hands me the keys to the car. "Drive safely honey. Oh and you're giving a ride to your brother by the way." She smiles and stands at the doorway of the garage.

"I don't care as long as I get to drive this beauty!" I looking at the beautiful BMW M 5. "And it's all mine?!" I ask.

"All yours honey." She smiles.

"Nick! Hurry up or I'm going to leave you behind!" I yell out to him and he rushes out into the garage.

"Woah! Its that ours!?" He asks.

"No it's all mine!" I laugh, "Hurry up and get in!" He hops in the car and I leave for school.

...

We pull into the school parking lot and my brother hops out the car.

"You're welcome by the way!" I roll my eyes and turn off the car. Just as I'm about to lock the doors of my new car my phone goes off. I look to see who sent me a message. It's my best friend Caitlin.

*Hey girl. You here yet? -Cait.*

I text back *Yeah, come meet me by the coffee house on campus -El*

With I'm a few minutes I arrive near at the coffee house and order my usual caramel iced coffee. I sit down at an empty table and wait for Caitlin to show up. While I'm waiting I pull out a book and begin to read.
...

"Hellooo. Earth to El." Caitlin snaps me out of book land.

"Oh hey sorry!" I laugh and get up and give her the biggest hug ever.

"How was your trip to Spain?! Meet any cute boys?" I ask my best friend.

"It was whatever. I wish you could have came with us dude.." Caitlin says.

"I know me too man but there was just no way I could have.. I mean not with everything that happened that is.."

"Yeah, I know, I know. But still." She says releasing herself from the hug.

"Let me see your schedule." I say holding out my hands.

"Okay, okay hang on." she says shuffling through her stuff. "Aw here it is." she says hanging it to me.

I look over her schedule then back at mine. "Okay we have periods 1,3,4,7 and 8 together." I say smiling.

"So let's walk to first period together?" I suggest smiling. Caitlin nods and laughs. My phone buzzes again and I check my phone. I look to see it's my boyfriend, Stefan.

*Hey babe, where you at? -Stefan"

*At the coffee house. I'll meet you next to the gym? -El*

*Yeah. -Stefan.*

"Oh hey before we go to first period mind if we make a quick pit stop?" I ask Caitlin.

"Sure, I don't care." She shrugs. I not and walk over to the gym. There I see Stefan.

"Hey there beautiful."  He says pulling me into a quick kiss.

"Hi." I smile. "Well uh we can't stay long we gotta get to English and get a good seat before they all get filled." I smile and kiss Stefan goodbye. Caitlin and I get to English somewhat early and find a seat close together. Luckily our English teacher has the big tables that seat about three to a table. A few minutes later the bell rings and put English teacher walks in.

"Good morning class." He says looking out to all his new students. A minute later a boy walks in late.

"You're late Mr. Styles." He says to the long wavy haired boy with tattoos that cover both his arms.

"And I don't really care Mr. Stein." He says. His raspy voice gives him even more of an edgier appearance. Mainly because he has a deep British accent.

"Take a seat where ever there's room. Like over..." Mr. Stein looks at the same table I am sitting it at, "there." Mr. Stein points to mine and Caitlin's table. The boy just rolls his eyes and sits down next to me at the table. A moment later my phone buzzes again.

*He's fucking hot dude. -Cait* I roll my eyes in amusement then put my phone away.

"What's your name love?" The boy asks me.

"El." I quickly answer.

"Well El, I'm Harry. Harry Styles." He smiles at me then looks down at the note book in front of him.
