Mary to my left smiled politely. We climbed the stairs slowly. "Well he's only a merchant." She giggled softly. "I suppose, anyways Marry its late and I should be heading to bed." I patted her shoulder."Night." Marry replied
Turning the corner my eyes needed to adjust to the darkness. The dark hallway gave off an eary glow do to the lit heat lamps. Little hairs on my neck begain to stick up and a cold chill ran down my spine. Turning around gracefully I searched my seroundings I didn't see any thing. An unsettling feeling that someone watching me settled on my shoulders. A head, something moved to my left.
"Who's there!?" I asked franticly. A tall man lingered in the shadows. I could make out a top hat and dark clothing. He was carrying a cane, maybe not a cane... but a sword. Backing away slowly, my back hit the wall. The tall lean man stepped out of the shadows and into the light of the lamp, but he remained faceless.
His face inches from mine and yet he lacked a face. He had eye sockets, a nose and lips, but skin ivaporated and left shinie white bone. "You can see me?" He asked curiously. The bone in his face molded into dimples, when he gave me a toothy grin. The corners of his mouth edged up into little swirls. Inching his face closer to mine. Turning my face, I nodded slowly trying not to panick.
Stepping back, the man laughed a cartoonish laugh. Looking deep into his eyeless sockets I watched him let go of his cane or sword. It stood strait as if he were still gripping it in his boney fingers. In a flash he raised his leg and kicked me backwards strait into a hole of darkness.
