The next day, Sofia woke up, feeling very happy; it was her 10th birthday. She was looking forward to her ride with Minimus, so she ate breakfast and got ready in her blue flying derby uniform.
While Sofia was out riding, her friends showed up at Enchancia Castle for the surprise party. Hugo saw that there were a lot of big presents for Sofia, and he hoped his gift for her wouldn't get buried in the pile. Pretty soon, everyone had arrived.
"Everything looks terrific," Amber declared. "All we need is the birthday princess."
"She's probably still riding with Minimus," James said. "We'd best wait for her at the stables."
Amber and James waited for their younger sister at the stables. It took about an hour, but Sofia came back with Minimus.
"Sofia, how was your ride?" Amber asked.
"Great, Amber, thank you," Sofia smiled.
"Sofia, we have a surprise for you in the garden," James told Sofia.
"Really?" Sofia asked.
"Close your eyes and come with us," Amber told her.
Sofia closed her eyes, and Amber and James carefully escorted her out to the garden.
