When Everything Seems Right It All Gets Lost

"Mom I don't see why I have to go to this school." I complained to my mom and dad as they were driving haft way across the country to drop me off. "There's know point mom will be writing me right and left, begging me to come home. Plus I'm not smart enough to be with kids like this."

"Honey I'm sure you will be just fine, you should make friends in no time at all. I'm sure you're just nervous. That's all." Said my dad taking my mother's side witch wasn't fair at all.

"Fine whatever you say but I'm staying once I get there I'm not going to play mom's games this year, you hear me mom? I'm not going home this time. This is a new school and I don't want everyone laughing at me again like last year and the year before that."

Well as you can already tell this story is about me and my parents dumping me off at some school called the "Dream Taker Academy." I'm 15 (almost 16) and I live or should I say lived in Belen, New Mexico, and my parents thought it would be good to get me somewhere where I've never been witch is everywhere but Belen. So they looked in to some schools this summer and found "Dream Taker."

Dream taker is in the middle of Minnesota. That's where I'm going to be spending the rest of my summer and the next 9 months , and well it's the middle of July so make that 10 and haft months.

As we pulled up to the front gate that had a 10 foot tall brick wall around it and a guard who-

"Hello sir, we are here to talk to Ms. Boyd. Is she in?" my dad asked the man.

"No but she should be here any minute now. You can wait in side if you would like, all you have to do is follow the signs to the student dorms and to your left..." he paused to look at me and continued. "Is the female dorms. And at the front office you am check in and get your room number. Go ahead." And he pointed to where we needed to go.

"Thank you sir." As my father thanked him we entered through the gates.

"You know the minister isn't back yet we still have time to turn around." As I still tried to talk my parents out of making me go here.

It looked so old and green. It was cloudy and cold outside when it should be sunny and hot. Everyone was every pal looking and almost to the color of white. It kind a scared me, cause I got a tan before we left New Mexico. So compared to them I looked alive and they were the ones who looked dead, unlike back home it was the other way around.

When we pulled up to the front office, my mom went in and got everything ready and got my key. We pulled up to the dorm that looked more like a tower to lock me up in. We got my things out of the trunk and headed up the stairs to my room.

When we got there, the door was unlocked. I pushed it open it find pink everywhere, not the walls but clothes, shoes, bed sheets, pillows, and rugs of pink, but most of all that scared me was make-up. There was make-up everywhere, I stood there in the doorway for who knows how long and finally I gasped. Then out of know where this girl pops up and says "Hello, you must be the Cowles. I'm Lacrisha, your new roommate. And let me guess your Madison?" she guessed looking strait at me and I nodded once very slowly and then she lend over to kiss my check in welcoming. "And you are Mr. And Mrs. Cowles, the amazing parents of Miss. Madison, Right?" She asked, as if she didn't already know.

"Umm...yes we are and yes this is Madison...Umm...did you study are names or wh-..." my dad started to ask. But my mom interrupted him.

"Yes we are and who did you say you were again?"

"I am sorry that was rude of me, I am Lacrisha." She said in a very sweet, but also hard voice that I didn't believe could come from someone so small and gorgeous. She was the most beautiful thing I ever seen, despite the fact that she had amazing eyes, that glittered with the light from above us shined off her eyes as if there was a sun shining down on her, And her black hair short and spread out everywhere in every direction. Her lips that looked so smooth and felt smooth from when she had kissed me lightly on the cheek!

"Oh well that's a nice name. Lacrisha." My mom repeated her name and looked down, smiling.

"Well this was different, um...mom shouldn't you guys get going before it gets too late?" wondering what my parents were thinking but also not really wanting to know.

"Yeah I guess we should before it does get late..." it sounded like my mom was really sad to be leaving but also happy that I was finally doing what she wanted.

I walked my parents down to the car and told them I loved them and they were on their way to talk to the minister, and back on the road again.

As I watched them leave I didn't think it would be this hard to watch them leave again. Even though it's a new school and new people doesn't make it easier, well at least not for me.
