"Your ticket was for New York?" The woman at the airport asks as she looks through a computer.

"Um.. Yes. Is there a problem?" I ask, frantically checking my purse for my phone. "I have my ticket order right here." I say. I basically shove my phone in her face.

"You're Jennifer Lawrence. Right?" The woman asks me.

"Yeah." I say, finally beginning to calm down.

"Well, it says here that your flight was changed to Kentucky instead of New York." She starts. "You called this morning."

"Oh.. Thank you." I whisper. I know for a fact I didn't change my flight, but if I tell her that it was my mother that called, a ton if controversy will start.

"Your flight leaves in ten minutes." She says, offering me a smile and handing me my ticket

I smile back, before turning around and rolling my eyes. "Great." I whisper as I pick up my suit case and Pippi. "Just fucking great."

Even for sitting in first class, people stare. Some at me, but others at my dog who happens to be howling for some reason. I look ridiculous. I have light wash jeans on with a black leather jacket. My hair is curled, and I'm in full make up. I was expecting to get off of a plane in New York City, not the middle of nowhere.

Although I wanted a break— no, I needed a break, I don't want to put my career on hold. It's just getting started, really.

I walk through the airport, looking for my parents. There is no way they booked my flight to Kentucky without arranging a ride home. Either that, or I'm stranded.

"Jennifer!" I hear a familiar voice yell over to me. I turn around and see my best friend, Laura.

"Oh my gosh, Laura!" I say as I run over and embrace her in a hug. "W- what are you doing here? I've missed you, Sausage!"

"I was called and told that you need some serious ice cream and funny movie nights." She says as she wriggles her eyebrows.

"Okay, well that can only happen if you give me a ride home, let me change, and let me go to the store to get snacks." I say with a laugh as I show her my suitcases.

"Why the hell do you think I'm at this airport?" She says as she yanks my bag out of my hand. "Now come on, let's go." She says as she runs full speed towards the exit.

"Lauraaaa!" I yell over to her as I attempt to run in my five inch heels.

"Hello, family." I say as I barge in my front door. My mom and dad are sitting on the couch, and as soon as they see me, they start jumping up and down.

"Thank you for changing my flight, mother. I really appreciate it!" I say sarcastically.

"We thought you'd change it back!" My mom says as she hugs me. "You needed a break, Jen... And Gosh, I've missed you."

"Hello, Lawrence family!" Laura says in a goofy accent as she comes through the door, waving her hands in the air.

"Hello, Laura." My mom says. "Thank you for being such a doll and picking Jen up at the airport." She jokes.

"I can't stay that long, Mum." I say with a small frown. "I'll stay for a week at the most."

"Okay, Jen." She says. "I'm just happy I get to see you."

"Get over here." My dad says with a grin as he stands up and hugs me. "I've missed you." He says as he gives me a kiss on the head.

"I've missed you all!" I say as I run up the stairs to change. I put on a t-shirt that says "Kentucky against the world," with my favorite Nike pro leggings. I throw on my shoes, and put my hair into a bun.

"Ready?" I ask Laura as I run down the steps, my purse and bag of chips at hand.

"Yes, but I have snacks at my house. We don't have to go shopping if you don't want."

"Thank god." I groan as I rip my hair tie out of my head. "I really don't want to deal with the staring.."

"Bye, Honey." My mom says as she hugs me tightly.

"Bye, Mum." I yell as Laura and I leave.
