Chapter 1.
There I was one day, Standing there, waiting for my best friend Joanna to come out of her classroom for recess. Everyone else was let out, but she had to stay in for a couple of extra minutes to clean up her work area because it was so messy. Whilst I never had to stay in, well not for being messy, that is. I always made sure that everything was clean and organized. I guess you could call me sorta a neat-freak, but I prefer to be called very organized. As I was standing there, she came running out of the classroom as fast as she could, running smack into me, making us both fall down.
"Oww!" I yelled, as I rubbed my head in surprise. "Sorry! But I just heard the greatest news! I just couldn't wait to tell it!" She squealed, as she did when she got her new puppy. News? What kind of news was she talking about? Like, I got a good grade on my science grade test good news, or like Ariana Grande was coming to perform in the cafeteria at lunch good news? But what she said next, had answered all of my questions. "A little birdie told me that your crush is going to ask you out today!!!!"
We both squealed, but then I stopped. How could someone so hot, popular, and flirty possibly like me? I mean, I'm one of those kind of tomboy and girly-girl in the middle type of people. I hated the thought of being made fun and my nickname in school was "Too Nice". But how was I supposed to tell her that?
She was my best friend, and she was more excited about this whole thing than me. I knew it was an oreo, which is this thing in my school where you have to ask someone out of the other person's choice and not tell them it's an oreo until they give you their final answer. I wanted to tell her, I really did, but I knew my plan would backfire. "Ok, let's go find him, and see if he does!" I said, unwillingly, but knowingly that it would make her feel happy inside...
