I have a problem. Not a personal problem. Just a problem that anyone could have. Why do good things never seem to last? Like you get something good and it seems like you only have that one thing for a little bit before it gets taken away from you. For example sleep. Probably not the best example but it seems that everyone is losing sleep. Like last week five kids fell asleep during class. Anyways not my point. My point is is that when you finally fall asleep the things you're woken up too soon, and you can't go back to sleep because of school or work.

Last night I stayed up till two o'clock studying and finishing homework. And when I finally fell asleep as soon does that not even 10 minutes later I was woken up by my alarm, even though it was actually 5 hours it seemed way shorter. I was having a great dream too, before I was rudely woken up by my alarm.

I slowly open my eyes revealing the light of the new day. I squinted my eyes adjusting to the light. I slowly moved my gaze towards the clock and seeing the number 7:15.

Crap! I'm late! School starts at 7:50 and it's a 20 minute drive. I scrambled out of bed throwing my blankets on the floor and almost tripping on them all running to my closet. I grabbed the easiest outfit I can find and decided to be lazy today I grab my sweatshirt with my favourite bands logo on the front and jeans. I threw my converse and ran into the kitchen after brushing out my hair.

After saying bye to my mom I grab my backpack and ran to my car. I sat in the front seat catching my breath and making sure I have everything before starting the car. Once I started the car I saw the time 7:30. Great. I pulled out my phone and texted Lily.

Hey Lily I won't be able to pick you up today, running late.

Not too long later she replied telling me that her mom was going to give her a ride and with that I took off for the school.

The drive was brutal. Tons of traffic in a freezing car. The heater broken its winter so I basically froze to death. I finally got to school and I thought I was good on time until I got out of my car and realized everyone was already inside.

I made my way inside and started walking to class. I walked down the emty, silence hallway and finally made it to my science classroom.

Before I could even walk fully into the the classroom I was stopped by my teacher, Mrs. Carlson.

"Did you get a note from the office?" She asked not even looking up from her work. My silence gave her, her answer.

"Go to the office and get a note." I nodded my head even though she wouldn't see me because she was still buried in her computer. "You have 3 minutes!" She yelled after me.

After I heard that I started running down the hall to the office. I only had one more turn to go and as soon as I turned the corner I found myself on the floor.

I looked up to see a guy with soft brown eyes and brown hair spiked up in a quiff, laying on the floor.

"Hey watch where your going!" He demanded before standing up and grabbing his stuff.

"Ow!" I said standing up.

"Well if weren't running in the halls, you wouldn't have run into me." He snapped walking away.

I got a note from the office and made my way to science. I walked into the class and sat in my seat in the back row after giving Mrs. Carlson the note.

Five minutes later the class door opened and I immediately recognized the guy who walked through the door.

"Attention, can I get your undivided attention?" Mrs. Carlson get everyone's attention and pointed to the guy who walked in the room.

"Class this is our new student, Shawn." He gave a slight wave and gave an obviously fake smile. He stood there staring at everyone with only one of his backpack straps over his shoulder. He was wearing black jeans with a white and black baseball tee.

"Shawn why don't you go sit in the emty seat by Emma." Mrs Carlson said pointing to the seat next to me. Great.

Shawn sat down by me and I looked away rolling my eyes.

"Hey your that girl who ran into me in the hallway." He said rudely.

I just rolled my eyes and went back to work.

"Hey do you have a pencil?" Shawn leaned over and asked me.

"You didn't bring a pencil on your first day?" I asked mockingly.

"Well I did have a pencil but I dropped it when you ran into me." He whispered. "And plus, why would I bring a pencil when I can ask cute girls like you for one?" He said with a wink.

Even though it's only for his first day, I grew hatred for him.
